Can anyone tell me the difference in Tamiya PS-55 Flat Clear & PS-58 Pearl Clear? Is the Pearl just gloss? Or does it have a slight hue to it? Flat is flat, no gloss, obviously.

Pearl clear should have the reflective stuff that pearl white does without the white. Back 15 years ago I would buy that and another brand of white I liked better.

Cool. I'm looking to back another color with clear. I'm wanting a gloss clear but the PS-58 says Pearl & I've never used it. Wondering if it actually is gloss or has a haze to it like a pearl. Flat will be ok for my paint job as it's a backer inside the body. Just don't want to mess things up.

If I remember clearly it was an off haze color that white hides.

Flat may be better then for my project. Thanks @Chubaka !
I'm painting a body with non PS paint & will back with PS clear to keep it flexible. Its a custom color maker & I've emailed them & said this will work on lexan.
I'll use an adhesion promoter 1st on the body before color. Then clear.
