I just finish changing my stock arms to rpm arms upgraded radio to JR XS3 Pro Installed everything centered steering servo and when i try to turn right the wheels barely move. when i turn left it turns ok. what can be the problem?

I just came back to suggest that, but you beat me to it, Olds. I made that mistake when I put RPM arms on mine.
The other lesson I learned the hard way is only change ONE thing at a time, then test it out before changing another. That way you only have one problem to figure out, and you know where it is, rather than trying to find out what went wrong, and where.

I loosened the ball caps got better. Thanks also what is end point adjustments and how do they affect steering.

Computer radio. You can adjust the travel in each direction of the servo.
There was the possibility that it went one way, and not enough in the other direction.
With the throttle servo, it allows you to adjust the brake without affecting the throttle.

i loosened them. when i lift the front oof the ground it turns good when i put it on the ground it wont turn. motor is not running waiting for warmer weather to cold to break in new os cvrx.

Make sure it turns in both directions when you hold the nose off the ground. You probably won't get the wheels to turn when it's sitting on the ground. They're too big and usually the steering servo isn't strong enough to turn them unless the truck is rolling. If it's still not turning well in both directions, take the servo arm off the steering servo and manually turn the wheels back and forth. If they seem to turn fine by hand, you can assume the problem is a radio/servo problem. If they don't turn well when they're unhooked from the servo, check for binding. Check the pillow balls. Tie rods. Linkages. Make sure there's nothing hitting on the chassis. One step at a time and you'll find it...

Thanks Candyman Everything looks good when i hold the wheels off the ground they turn both directions and it is pretty strong. I guess it like you said the wheels need to be rolling in order for the servo to turn them.

I have has a bad servo saver act this way as well. The spring inside the saver can get WAY loose in one direction. This may be after the fact seeing as how you got it working again however it may help someone else down the line.

There's a few steering upgrades you can do to get more of the servo power to the ground instead of absorbed in the linkage. You can put bearings instead of bushings in the steering cam things and get a better servo saver like a heavy duty kimbrough saver. Or, you can go the route I did and upgrade to the pro-line steering kit. It replaces the stock saver, linkage and whatnot. It has a built in adjustable saver as well as bearings in the right places.

I ran that with a futaba s3305 servo and it worked great. It would turn the wheels on carpet with relative ease.

I agree--that's one of the best upgrades I've made to my Maxx. The Pro-Line kit is awesome, especially if you pair it with a good servo. I'm running a Hitec 645MG and it will easily turn the tires on carpet, as well.

Also, when I install my pillow balls, I put a light coat of lithium grease on them to smooth out the suspension and steering action. Not too much, though, because it will attract all kinds of crud and make things worse.

i did install a brand new kimbrough heavy duty servo saver and a jr z590 metal gear servo. will try installing bearings on steering.

The z590 isn't all that strong. It would be better suited using that on your throttle/brake servo for better brakes.

The hitec is quite a bit higher torque than the 590 and the futaba s3305 is in the middle according to the specs. But after owning all 3, I like the s3305 better.

I'm on a hate hitec month so I'm gonna cast my pissy attitude at ya...Stick with the Futaba or JR servos....I guess I've vever had issues w/ my 645MG servos but I hate their digital ones now...3 down in one month...2 were new installs and nver ran.....the Pro-Line steering is definately worth the dough.....and then when you get bored of the T-maxx engine... build one w/ a .27 engine in it and pee yourself w/ glee as you break things at an even faster rate than Ever before.....

I don't like hitec either. I broke about 4 or 5 of thiers in 3 months or so. They got all twitchy then would only turn one way or slowly go to the right or left after 10 minutes of use.

2 645's and 2 625's and 1 jr 590M
