Hi everyone, I'm new here and was wondering what brands I should trust and which I should stay away from. My shocks are trashed. (still working but poorly) I want some that are durable. I like to race with my cousin but we end up just seeing who can jump the farthest. :hehe: Any advise is greatly appreciated. Also what oil weight please. :sign_thankyou:

I run they Traxxas big bores on mine with duel rate springs on 40 wt oil with two hole piston.

Aluminum bulk heads, chassis braces and shock towers. Rpm a-arms and carriers. +1 on the trx big bores. As long as you stay close to the stock tire diameter, the stock 3.3 shafts hold up pretty well. In my experience, anything bigger/heavier than the 3.3 tires make for sloppy handling. The added weight=added breakage. Mostly in the diffs.

As far as brands go FLM (Fast Lane Machine) makes great aluminum bulks as well as UE (Ultimate Engineering) and stay away from Integy they do not make the best products also MIP I have had issues with their center CVD's for the Maxx as well as others on the Traxxas board.

I've got the center shafts from Traxxas and I know not to trust Integy. I heard that aluminum is never a good thing but it seems that everyone has the bulkheads. I'm guessing aluminum bulks are ok? Also jcjhl69 can I just run the dual rate springs on the stock shocks?

Aluminum in the middle, plastic on the outside is a good rule of thumb for a maxx. I've seen a few nasty impacts, one that slaughtered a rpm arm. But the bulks were fine. Which basically made for a real quick fix, as opposed to having to tear the whole front end off of the truck. A quality set of bulkheads will pretty much last forever, only requiring removal when the diff needs attention. I wiped out the other day, taking out my plastic bulks and chassis braces(roof landing). If these parts were aluminum, I'm pretty sure I would have walked away with no more than a broken shock tower. Which would have meant I could have gotten back to crashing in minutes, rather than an hour.:)

Awesome, I get paid on Wednesday so I'll get those springs for sure. Is there any brand name I should get for the aluminum bulks? Thanks for the easy link jcjhl69.

Funny thing, today I was running with my cousin and his uncle. His uncles E Revo and my Maxx got a little to close for comfort and I broke an a-arm and a bulkhead. RPM HERE I COME :money:

Not sure whuch max you have but here are some links for the FLM combo bulks

I think this one is for the newer Maxx's

Hope that helps. I have the older 2.5 maxx and use the top set and love them they elimate the diff housing as well since it is built into the bulks ans well as strengthens the bulks since they are aluminum. If you have the older Maxx consider getting the Diff cup with gear to put into those bulks.

Diffs and bulks are all interchangeable on the different Maxx's, though I believe that on the newer diffs, the output shafts may be larger. Somebody will chime in to clarify. Those are all great parts that are listed above. FLM is quality.
