Hello does anyone know what the factory setting is for the second gear adjustment screw? My son has adjusted this screw all the way in and I can not find any info on were to start on getting it back to the stock setting. Tranny is apart and I have the gear in my hands which has the adjustment screw in it. Thank you.

Ok, by turning the screw all the way in Clockwise... he has adjusted it to shift later. I would back the screw out about an 1/8 of a turn at a time to shorten the shift point. Fire the truck up and see where it shits and keep making small adjustments until it shifts right where you want it to. Unfortunately I have adjusted mine and don't have it set factory.

Hope this helps

Tom

T-maxx 2 speed adjustment

I just spoke to a tech today on this subject. I too lost adjustment on my 2 speed. I was told that if the adjustment screw was turned in to far it will damage the "spring" and it will have to be replaced. Also if the wrong screw was messed with, it might cause the two speed gear to come off of the shaft. Anyway, I was told that a good starting point for adjustment is in the aluminum far enough so that two threads are showing of the Aluminum hub. I haven't tried this yet as I have many more demons to work out of my maxx. I hope this helps. Please let me know!

To make it easier to remember in the future, think of the screw as a clock.
Wherever it's set, is noon. Clockwise is later (one or two O'clock being later than noon) Counter clockwise is earlier. 11 AM being earlier than noon.
Never adjust more than 1/8 turn at a time, and only do it when the truck is warm, and tuned correctly. A poorly tuned engine will not allow proper shifting.
