T Maxx Tranny And Rpms

Hey guys, i need some answers. First of all, one day i took my maxx out and the tranny was stuck in second. I opened it up and adjusted it a little bit and it seemed like there was absolutely no friction on the adjustment screw. Anyway, i took it for a couple of passes and it was suddenly stuck in first. I adjusted it just a tiny bit more and it will shift but still to late and it seems that whatever i do i can't get it just perfect. Could all this including the loose screw (can't even tell it's turning) be a sign of a worn tension spring in the tranny or what? Also, when it does shift into second gear, the engine will not reach its max rpms even after 5 seconds of accelerating, any ideas? The engine i am running is the ofna max 21 drop in engine. please help!

Try leaning it out... it sounds like its too rich so it doesn't have the rpms to switch to second.

I'd pull hte tranny apart before you go makin ASS-U-ME-ations about it's condition....you could kill your engine, or at least your clutch shoes, starting out in 2nd gear like that.....did you put any kind of lube in your tranny? you should only use dry lube in there no grease or oils.....

umm I'm not too familiar with T-Maxes but is there a slipper clutch this may be part of the problem, that its too loose

Good point, it could be...but his statement about it not reaching Max RPMs wouldn't hold to the slipper going or being loose....if the slipper were loose it would have no pick up and rev like crazy.....
TMAXX does your engine rev really high and not move when it's in 1st gear?
is it reving slow and just taking off slow?
give us a little more info on the symptoms you got.....

THE SLIPPER CLUTCH IS FINE. I THINK .21Rc10GT WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE ENGINE NEEDING TO BE LEANED OUT A BIT BECAUSE IT IS ABOUT 5 TURNS OUT ON THE HSN. SMOKE POURS OUT PRETTY GOOD. SPITTING AND SPUTTERING DURING ACCELERATION IS A SIGN OF RICHNESS, RIGHT?

Yes, unless it isnt spitting any smoke, so i think you are pretty rich. Lean er out a little bit at a time and try it out. It is easier to get the tranny adjusted when the engine is tuned!

my tmaxx was working fine then i adjusted the shift point then it only stayedin first and then i refueld it and it starts up fine and now it only revvvs HIGH and iddles and no movementtt ANY IDEA ANYONE?
