I have recently purchased a new t-maxx 3.3 and have since upgraded all of the a-arms to RPM. I have also purchased a set of traxxas big bore shocks and installed them and used the oil that came with them to fill the shocks. When I set the truck on the ground it sags down and it was doing this before I installed the shocks on it so I believe it may have something to do with the a-arms. I have also added more spacer clips on to the shocks which seems to help a little but I was wondering if I need to purchase stiffer springs or change the weight of oil that I put in the shocks.

Thank you,
Anderson

Springs. Oil will change the dampening/rebound rate but will not have as much effect on ride height. I can't vouch for the 3.3 but the older Maxx springs were horribly too soft.

Not just the 2.5, it seems all Traxxas Shocks are too soft. The Big Bore shocks are no exception to that rule. They need heavier springs as well. I am not sure where people were picking up the better springs at though.

Thanks guys, I know that there are different colored springs and that each of them has a different stiffness to them. Any recommendations on color and brand that would perform well on the t-maxx?

my maxx sits tall and strong, has red springs if that means anything..back when i had the ol' bandit, sometimes i would put two sets of springs on each suspension, but at that time had diff size springs so one spring would fit right inside another, worked pretty good..:)

The big bores come with emaxx springs. I've researched this before...

Back in the day, trinity had a couple variations of t-maxx springs, blue and black. Both definitely stiffer than stock or emaxx springs. But they are very hard to find these days.

I know RC raven makes some, but I don't know if they are large enough in diameter for the big bores:

These might be stiffer:
