Hey i have had a lot of problems when it comes to shocks. I finnally found the right shocks for what I'm doing and when i went to take off the shocks on the back of the shock tower i realzied how hard it was to take them off and put new ones on. The other day when it got warm enough to drive my truck out i decided i was going to make a huge jump so i did and guess what? i landed worng and broke three F***ing shocks both right fronts inside and out and the left front one on the inside. so i now i have a ? is there a way to make it easier to put on and take off the inside shocks without pretty much destroying the screws? i remeber reading an article about drilling out holes or something and putting in screws and a nutbut i dont know if it would work b/c it would make the shock tower weaker than it is. if any of you guys have done this please tell me if it works? and if you have any suggestions please help me.

P.S. i looked through some older threads about stuff like this but it didn't answer my ?'s

Shocks

Yeah it can be a pain in the butt to change shocks. Heres a link to what I did with my shocks. Easy to do and shocks can be changed in a pinch.Check This Out!!!

did this make your shock tower weaker in any way like owuld it take away from all the support in the tower

Maybe you should try getting some allen head machine screws instead of the stupid phillips ones. The damn phillips head screws are so annoying to get out...

When I had stock towers on mime I drilled the tower at the mounting point all the way through. Then I used a 3mm x 50mm hex head screw with a 3mm nylock nut on the other side. It made it very easy to take the shocks on and off. Put the nut on the side closest to the tank, and the hex side of the 3 x 50mm hex screw facing the outside of the truck. The stock shoulder screws suck!

I did what he did on the top, but I used RPM towers with UE SuperMaxx shocks (OFNA 9.5 buggy shocks). I used the stand offs on the bottom that came with the new shocks, but I used a 3mm caphead with a washer on it and ran it clear through the RPM arm and put a nut on the back.

Using a long bolt with a nut on the topside would be just as easy and if I did it again, it would be the way I would go. It's what they use on the savage and I like it better.
