My t-maxx is having a problem and i can't figure it out. so i was wondering if i can get some help from here. here is my situation: when my truck is started and my barely hitting the gas to go slow it jerks like once or twice den takes off. Everytime i stop and try to go forward again it jerks once or twice again. I have checked the clutch on the spur gear and tried adjusting that but still its the same thing. I don't know if you guys can understand what I'm saying but if you would like to help me i can send you a video of it if you send me your email address.. thanks
 
well I just recently switched in a used transmission with reverse and ever since i put it in its been doing it. It was working fine when i had my stock transmission. I'm gonna have someone tune it so ill see if thats the problem.. thanks
 
how long has it been doing this? Mine has been doing this since day one. Believe it is because of reverse gear and the clutches inside the trans. Do a FOC and the jerking should go away. You could also loosen up your slipper clutch but I dont recommend this.
 
all trannys with reverse do this, there is a clutch inside the tranny that causes the jerking.

A FOC will fix it and be alot stronger and lighter.
 
My Classic T-maxx with 1.5 did this until i put a OS 21tm in it and it never did it again...My sons truck does the same thing (1.5)
 
Ya all the ones with reverse have this problem. It wont do it as bad if tuned right. If you watch the DVD that comes with it you will see the traxxas guys t-maxx does this too. Not a problem with your truck. All do this with stock trani.
 
Well, at least all the .15 pro and 2.5 maxxes did this. It was the nature of the beast with the reverse mechanism. There were two clutches inside the trans. One for forward and one for reverse. Until the trans gets up to enough RPM's, it lurches as it goes in and out of gear.

I think traxxas designed it this way because they like selling trans gears, spur gears and center axles...

The the maxx 3.3 is like the revo, then it won't lurch I don't believe. Different design inside and outside the trans.
