I just recently got my Traxxas T Maxx running again with a new engine, I tuned a little bit to idle smoothly. I am about to do break in but the truck doesn't move when I give it throttle... the clutch bell and the spur gear are spinning and spin faster when I give it throttle, but nothing moves... is there some transmission work needed?

I would look at the reverse servo and shift fork or the clutch in the tranny. Tge tmaxx has a slipper clutch on the outside. In the inside is 2 more clutch. One connects first gear to the output at a certain rpm. Then at another rpm it engages the second gear. It could also be stuck between reverse and forward.

It's possible the pegs (if older style clutch) rounded out or if it's a newer slipper it could be loose like mentioned.

When you said tune, did you only touch the idle screw or did you mess with the high speed and low speed needles?

I’d do what everyone suggests. If you can’t find the problem, flip the truck over and check to see your drive axles at the transmission hasn’t back out and let the cups slide back and strip out.

If the out put shafts on the transmission aren’t spinning it’s the slipper or transmission.
