T-maxx engine head replacement

Hi, sorry about so many questions, but i'm a newbie in offroad trucks...
I was looking into tower hobbies site, and i see that the t-maxx motor head, can be replaced by the revo one, worth it ? or it's better to buy one from other company, will the results be so significant ?

I believe the Revo head does cool a bit better, but ACNCM makes a HUGE head for the T-Maxx and Revo 2.5 that is ubeatable. You can find them on eBay for around $25.

I will put in a vote for the ACNCM head also. I am a newcomer to the hobby and don't have any experience with any other cooling heads for the t-maxx, but I can tell you that this head alone dropped the temps on my motor between 35-45 degrees, and the tune is slightly easier to find and keep than with the factory head.

Your probably right... shoot ACNCM a email and see if they are planning on making one for the CV-R. They normally respond within a day or two.

I see a lot of people getting it and doing well at the track w/ them too.....although i noticed last night while helpng someone that the temp readings should be around 180 - 200 at the head....the head seems to disipate heat real quick...I helped someone who was reading 230 on teh head but when we temped his case at the top it was 290......when the block was around 235 the head was around 190....we played w/ it for a while and saw this was pretty consistent.....any one else have input on this...I don't want to preach a one time instant....

When I ran the ACNCM head on my TRX 2.5 (Have a Picco .21 now) I had the wired type temp gauge and I would run it as low on the head and as close to the block as I could. I would tune from there to get temps around 220-230 and it ran great.

I run the revo heads and I've been really satisfied with them. I've never ran the ACNCM head before so, no comment on those.
