hello every1,my name is charles and I'm new to the nitro hobby,i picked up a t maxx 3.3 couple weeks ago and it ran fine untill the other day.The break in with 5 tanks went smooth ,now on tank 8..I tryed starting the truck and it will only crank for 3 sec,i pulled the 1way bearing it looked/felt fine worked fine,i put it back together and it started fairly easy but wouldnt stay running (cold motor),,after couple trys it now went back to doing the same #sec cranks..It almost seems like to much compression,if i loosen the gplug a bit it trys starting,,please help,,thanks:(

Sounds like it may be flooded pull your glow plug and turn the motor over, some fuel should come out when you do put it back in and see what happens

With you saying you were new to the hobby thought i would mention that but have u tried heating your motor up with a hair dryer b4 starting makes a motor run a whole lot better for first start up. you could also be running to rich making the motor drown its self out. Also could be a air leak somewhere. I saw a post on here a while back similar to this if my memory is correct but it was something wrong with the fuel tank

I also tryed that and nothing...IDK what happend it ran great then all of a sudden nothing,it is mind boggling,i googled up diff things and nothingit seems like motor is to itght but if i loosen the plug a tad it trys to start

Try a new glowplug, the break in process sometimes eats a new one,...also take your plug out and hook it back to the blue wire and operate the starter then note how hot the plug gets,...it should glow cherry red, chances are that the starter battery is low on charge, try that then get back to us.

Fully charged,as of rite now when i check the Gplug on the blue wire while cranking it wont turn red but then again i tryed that once b4 when the plug actually went it didnt turn red either,at that time the new plug made the truck run great but on the test when u pull the Gplug and crank it while sitting on the blue wire it didnt get red but the truck ran great...when i heat the motor with hair dryer it will crank longer and it wants to start but the motor wont stay long enough with a strong crank...are all the gears supposed to turn it the black case that the starter is conected to (like the big gear that the 1way bearing connects to in the black plastic case,,on mine it seems tight to turn)

also if i put the bad Gplug it and press button on the wand the Gplug lite dont come on but when i put the goog Gplug in the lite lites up so should be good,,but either way the motor wont crank long enough to fire it up...

i just tested the glow plug and grounded it to the head and it glows very red..fully chared and plug out and u can hear it dying down while cranking like battery is going dead, but when i pulled the 1 way bearing and put back togather it cranked fine but after it tryed starting now its back to nthe 3sec cranks

Mine was doing the same thing. The smallest gear in the ez start case was very tight on the pin it rides on. I pulled mine off and cleaned both up and put some after run oil on the inside of the gear and all was well. Also check that your OWB isnt turning in the gear forcing the gear into the case. Also had this problem.

Also may note your batt. may not be holding a charge well.

i pulled it apart again and it seems like the big white gear that the 1way connects to is very tight,i pulled it apart and put the gear back in and it seems to spin nice n easy? something wrong???

Did you notice if the bearing had turned in the gear? There are flat spots on either side of the OWB as well as flat spots inside the large gear. Mine was turning inside the gear.

Your bearing is turning in the gear. And once it starts that it will do it everytime. You have basicly 3 options.. rebuild the ez start, get a pull start and ingnitor to eliminate the ez start, or do what i did which I dont recomend. I used super glue to hold the bearing in place. Keep in mind the bearing will never come back out of that gear and if you get any glue in the bearing its shot. I did it as a quick fix until I had the cash to get a pull start. The ez start systems are known to have issues and most just ditch it for a pull start.

Icic lol,yup that was the prob, the bearing has play in the gear so ill just convert to easy start,,any idea wer to find 1 or a price?
Also thanks guys for all the help, hopefully after this i wont be back on her for a while unles I'm looking for upgrades lol..

Meant pull start lol...

+1 on ditching the cheesey start,............do yourself a favor and get a quality ignighter,

A good ignitor is always worth it's weight in gold.
How are you priming this engine? What is the temperature outside?

Its around low teens for the high but will be warming up next week to high 20'-30'..
And I hold finger over exhaust for couple secs then it starts rite up
