T maxx 3.3 problem HELP!!!

Ok. I bought a tmaxx from one of my buddies and it had been sitting for like a year . I got it running and then it took a. Crap
Stuff just started breaking . So first was a drive shaft I fixed that then it was the slipper clutch I did every thing possible to the slipper clutch I took the clutch off the motor and it was worn and glazed I cleaned it and ruffed it up put it back in it ran. Fine for a wile then the clutch glazed over. What do I do ?!?!?!?!? And the reason I think it is the clutch because I can start the truck and runn it wide open and it barley moves ???????

I would inspect the Spur gear to see if it has stripped. When you pulled it apart you may not have got the clutch bell and spur gear meshed properly. Put one finger on the clutch bell and another on the spur gear and feel the play. If the you can spin the spur while holding the clutch than you probably have a stripped spur gear.

Spin both rear tires in a forward motion and both front tires should spin in the same direction. All parts should spin freely without much effort. This will test your transmission and differentials.

When a clutch goes bad it will generally cause your truck to buck forward instead of WOT and no movement at all unless it is full of oil then it will just slip.

how about simply is the slipper set tight enough? Or maybe the nut for the slipper is loosening up? Do u know how to set the slipper properly?

There is also a way to test this with all 4 wheels on the ground hold the truck see if you can spin your spur gear. If it spins then you do not have enough resistance on Slipper Clutch.

Ok guys. I got the slipper clutch tight I have done all. The work in the world on the slipper. The spinning the tires thing worked. And there is no play the clucth has worn marks should I buy a new. Clutch kit. Witch spur gear I. Have completely disassembled. The trany and nothing is striped or worn

I tried putting the truck on the ground and spinning the the spur gear
(slipper clutch ) it spins freely so what's wrong???. :whhooo:

did you check too see if the presure plate for the slipper clutch was not broke or bent?check the clutch spring?the spur gear should spin freely clock wise and when you spin it counter clock wise it should move the truck forward.had the same problem on my revo and i replaced clutch shoes/spring,spur gear,check c.b spur gear mesh all ok then checked the pressure plate and that was the colbert.also i use the alum. heavy duty slipper clutch pads now.

The spring is like compressed all the way when I take it off and. The pressure plates are on the out side of the slipper clutch one is worn on the. In side It spins freely both ways camo get an aluminium slipper for my t maxx ???

I had continuos problems with my stock slipper clutch assembly on my 2.5 tmaxx until i bought the torque control slipper upgrade kit. That will convert it to the new style three shoe slipper clutch that is tons better than the stock one with the little round fiber pegs. I dont remember the traxxas part number but its called "TORQUE CONTROL SLIPPER UPGRADE KIT" and comes with a new input shaft for tranny and everything you need to install for $25.

Ok I posted a wile ago on my t maxx on this thread . Slipper clutch I bought the up. Grade kit and it didnt help. What do I do next. Do I buy a new clutch. I took the old one out and it's pretty worn I cleaned every thing roughed it up and put it back in .
What do I do!?!?

how tight are you running your slipper,sounds like its been to loose,how are you tightening it?

It said just tighten it all the way down. With the wrench I am suposed to but with the new slipper I have to take it out to adjust it

It is a 5351x up grade kit. My iPhone won't let me post pics .
