I bought a used 3.3 t-maxx on Ebay. I have run about 6 tanks through it and it ran just fine. Came time to replace glow plug after that went bad. Nothing but problems since. Replaced glow plug again, glow plug wire as well as the EZ start handle as that was pretty worn. Both old and new EZ start handle the LED light for the glow plug will not light up and turn green as it should. Now engine will not start. I have looked over the Traxxas troubleshooting info as well as their website and nothing. HELP... I am new to Nitro and not sure where to start.

You may want to look into a roto start or a pull start. Most people I know usually get rid of the EZ start the first time it starts to show signs of trouble.

You may not need to go that far, just try and remove the blue wire and use a regular glow ignitor. The glow function of the easy start is known to be a pain in the arse. A low battery (while it may not seem low) won't have enough juice to get the plug hot enough. Another thing, it's not that uncommon to take a new plug out of the package and have it be junk.

I did some more tinkering and I believe I have the high speed adj. and low speed all out of whack now. Where should I re-set the high and low speed adjustments to so I can re-tune the engine? I bought new glow plug and both lights light up on EZ start handle when trying to fire it up. The engine almost wants to fire when I use the EZ start. I just believe I have the speed adjustment all screwed up. And now believe that is the cause for the engine to not fire up.

Another goof?? I live in an apartment and have been laving the tmaxx on the balcony. I live in South Texas and the humidity is generally bad in the warm months. And I notice the fuel tank will develop moisture in it. Am I to assume this will mess the fuel mixture up once I fill the tank? I may need to get an air tight storage bin to put the truck when I am not running it so I can store it inside. So the nitro smell will not stink up my place.

have you tried using only traxxas heavy duty plugs
my friends didnt work unless he did, i guess traxxas made the voltage for traxxas plugs only, he had trouble with everything else

I have tried traxxas plugs as well as some others a guy at the hobby shop suggested. I did not notice a difference.

Set your high speed to 4-4.5 turns from closed. This is a good starting point, tune for performance from there.

I had a ez start rustler...nothing but problems. Most of the time the ez starter was the only problem with the truck, thats why i bought the 3.3 with the pull starter. Or you could go for a starter box.

The stock setting tune is 4 turns out on the high speed needle and the low speed needle screw needs to be even with the housing that it is in.

As far as storing your truck, I used to live in an apartment also, and as long as I ran the fuel out of the tank and motor and cleaned up the truck after I used it, I would store it in a cabinent in the bathroom. The only smell was a faint smell of the nitro fuel just in the bathroom. I kind of liked the smell.
