I got a tmaxx rolling pretty much stock chassis Mods: (rpm front arms, aftrmkt pipe, chrome rollcage, bigger wheels)

I kinda went overboard and splurged and ordered a new 3.3 engine and pretty much all the beefy upgrades (around $200 worth of stuff)

and got done ordering that stuff and saw how cheap a revo chassis with all the needed upgrades for revos (rpm arms all around, FOC conversion, and a few other mods) for $250 and I'm thinking DANG i should sell everything but my new 3.3 motor and everything else that will swap over/be used as spares and buy the revo chassis......

I like the better design of the revo.........but is it that much better?

Input needed.

There is no comparison.

The Revo is superior to the TMaxx in just about every way. Especially if you have the 2.5 Maxx and not the 3.3.

lol its killing me........I guess as soon as I get everything I ordered it goes back on ebay.

I understand why ya gotta have 100 posts to sell on here but dang I'm not gonna post whore a 100 posts. I got perfect feedback on ebay even.

It's 100 PRODUCTIVE posts and also being a member for 3 months.

You perfect feedback on ebay means nothing here.

One thing on the t-maxx that they never fixed was the bulkhead structure. If they would have figured out a way to capture the ends of the hinge pins, I'd almost be swayed to say it would be as durable as most others.

IMO though, without that... it's weak.

However, the revo has it's own issues in my book. They fixed the bulk problem, but left a new problem out there, engine bay/chassis tweaking off big air. So now, instead of replacing the bulks, you replace spurs and chassis decks. Not a good trade off .

Yes I understand that, thats why I said I'm NOT going to post whore. I'm registered on a atv forum and have 4000 posts and can't stand it when people post random crap to be able to access restriced parts of the forum.

Ok lets say I had rpm braces with the stock tmaxx bulkheads OR aluminum bulkheads, would that solve or help the problem? I like big air ALOT, jumping is gonna be one of the main things I plan to do.

About the best you can do is get aluminum bulks. IMHO, the RPM bulk braces don't do much. Run aluminum bulks and aluminum bulk braces.

RCS sells bulks that have a plate to capture the inside hinge pin end, but I can't find them... maybe they stopped making them. Great Assemblies would be my first choice, but their site doesn't appear to be up anymore.

So, that leaves you with other aluminum bulkhead makers. Personally, I'd stay away from integy and if you do get alloy bulks, you need to get hinge pins that aren't screw in but rather held by e-clips.

GH makes good stuff, their running a 20% off winter sale and they are a forum sponser:
Front Bulkhead
Rear Bulkhead
Front bulk support
Rear bulk support

Lunsford hinge pins
Traxxas Stainless Steel hinge pins (I'd go with lunsford)

ok so having all that stuff you mentioned stiffend up, will the differential be the next to break?? I got RPM shock towers and arms and metal drive shafts already.

I didn't have many diff or trans problems when running smaller engines. When I converted to a BB, then the diffs became problematic as did the trans. Fixed the trans by getting an alloy trans case and RRP steel internals. But, I never invested the dough in the diffs for something like the UE diffs ($300 I think).

Running a TRX2.5, 3.3 or OS18, you should be fine for the most part. Just keep an eye on your bearings in the diffs. If they get wobbly, gear mesh is suffering. Cheaper to replace a few bearings once in a while than a $20 diff from ebay.

Also, if you have the old maxx 2.5 trans with reverse, ditch reverse. It makes the trans weak. Getting a plastic FOC makes it a lot stronger and smoother on take off.

I think traxxas also came out with a slipper upgrade kit to switch from the old school slipper with pegs to the new style slipper with pads. A great idea IMO. It will handle your 3.3 much better.

I'm not saying run out and buy everything to fix it now, I'm just saying if your wanting to keep it for the long haul, these changes will make it more enjoyable for you in the long term.

I don't think it's bad considering what it has on it. The RPM arms/knuckles alone are $110.

I did a quick search and there are a few RTR's around $300, but they are pretty much stock. The non-stock RTR's (upgraded bits like the roller you found) are in the $450 range. So, even if you did buy a new engine with yours, you'd still be at $400 which is less than what they are asking for similar ones.

You could probably do worse!

I think that is a pretty good deal.I just sold one of my rollers for $250.00 with no wheels and tires.

Once you drive the Revo the Maxx will collect dust on the shelf.

I would ditch the single speed deal though and use a wide ratio 2 sp for bashing or the close or standard ratio for racing.

Yea I thought the single speed was kinda goofy....why would he do that?

A friend of mine has a revo...I've never driven it though. Hopefully tomorrow my 3.3 engine will get here and I can get it installed and maybe sunday me and him can get together and drive our trucks and I can try his revo out.

All my aftermarket parts for my tmaxx got here today :\ They look so nice lol Its gonna kill me to resell them.

I'm gonna break in the 3.3 in my tmaxx and think on this awhile.....I still havn't got a chance to try my buddies revo we went riding today (streetbikes)
