This was a fun build. Started with a standard Scorched Typhon chassis in carbon as he didn’t have any GT width 328mm chassis’ at the time. I made my own carbon fibre GT width skirts for the sides.
It’s a tight fit getting everything in a short chassis! I opted for an HW Max 6 with the 1650kv. I did install one of Phill’s Ripple Killer cap packs to insure that the Max 6 ESC can take it into the 120’s.
The receiver box on the left holds a BEC that runs the fans and lights.
Vitavon suspension components, Redondo Beach springs. PPS motor mount.
962 body, Delta Plastics. Too bad about those top “fins” on the sides of the body. And the total lack of the whole rear spoiler. At least I can build the rear components.
Template for the rear vertical stabilizers. Used Kydex for them to have a little bit of flex available in the event of the inevitable shunt. Trace the template on two pieces of Kydex so the sides are identical after cutting.
The horizontal spoiler was made from carbon fibre and I used those fantastic billet brackets from Scorched to mount them.
God, I feel like such a freaking boss when I paint carbon fibre!!!
Painted, with Rothmans livery. The 962 is one of my favorite cars ever. I wish Delta Plastiks worked a little harder on the scale appearance and the proportions. They might not get it perfect on such a short wheelbase but it could definitely be better. Still pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks for looking!
