Well, in all honesty, the LRP28 may be on it's way out with the 30 out there. The picco 28 was a heavy hitter as well. I have two LRP's (aftershock and savage) and one picco, but have only ran the LRP's. Bought the picco for a deal I couldn't pass up and it's still in the box.
The good for the LRP: Powerful, decent RPM's, pretty easy to tune, seems to have a long life for piston/sleeve
The bad: thirsty, not as refined of tune as the picco, little less power than the picco, have to keep a close eye on the bearings as they are known to fry and take the engine with them.
All that said, this summer I've driven my BB revo 10 times more than my savage and I haven't even taken the aftershock off the shelf except for once. My BB revo has my winter engine in it that I ran in my savage last season... XTM 24.7. Doesn't hold a candle to the LRP in the savage, but seems to fit my needs in the revo.
I have a kink or two on the savage that I need to work out to make it enjoyable. The aftershock just isn't fun unless I have someone to run with that I need to out power and out drive. So, they sit.
