Well I didn't like the way the LCD looked. It made everything look "to real" Weird saying that but it made high end movies look low budget or like you took them with a home video camera. I couldn't stand it. Even though gaming on it was amazing I wasn't going to try to get used to the other flaws for a tv i paid a grand for. SO We took it back and got a Panasonic 50" Plasma. Most of the issues with burn in have been fixed in the past year or 2. So we got a TV that is 3" bigger and makes movies look better and its a better brand for $300 less.

This is the one we got.

yea i noticed that on my tv. the first thing i watched was the original matrix. i was surprised at how everything looked like it had depth. you get used to it though. now i can't watch tv in the bedroom on the old crt tv.

We chose plasma over LCD for some of the same reasons. We do limited gaming but we do watch a ton of movies.

It will be used way more for gaming. I hope that doesn't hurt it :( I mean just yesterday I put well over 10 hours of Modern Warfare 2 and Dirt 2 on it...

It won't hurt it one bit. Follow the 100 hour rule...for the first 100 hours keep the contrast low and don't watch things that have a static image for more than a few hours at a time.

oops? lol I turned the contrast down to 50% yesterday before gaming on it all day. I am concerned about MW2 having the constant HUD display.... I have probably put 40-50 hours on it already... Probably 30 or so of that was with the contrast at 100% :(

I have put some long gaming sessions on my 42" Panasonic, and it has no signs of burn in.

Falling a sleep on the cough is not recommended though. My TV was on all night with a static test picture, I could see a shadow of the picture for a few seconds after turning it off, but nothing since.

Good to know. Best buy assured me I wouldnt have any burn in problems but they will say anything to sell something.

Have you noticed how electronics salesmen will talk up the product but as soon as your at the counter they'll start telling you about all the things that can go wrong and will try and push an extra insurance on you.

haha ya. He tried selling me a $80 power balancer strip thing.... Telling me if the power level varies it will mess up my tv. lol bastards.
