i went to my lhs today to watch the off road races. there was only 3 trucks in the mt class, all tmaxx's. that made me want to try it next week. any advise on what a good setup would be? the track is hardpack clay with a little loose dirt on top. it is kept faily damp. lots jumps and tight turns with one kind of long back straight there iss a couple doubles and two big table tops. any advise would be apprecited thanks.:D

i would try the truck with the stock setup first. If you dont like it then change. If the track is relatively smooth with some big jumps i would say to up the shock oil to 50wt minimum, change to the included long travel springs but keep the p2 rockers on. Invest in a swaybar kit aswell. I run on a track similar. I like a truck that is pretty loose and the above setup will get the truck looser. Also the biggest issue you will run into is the front end not wanting to bite in the turns. I would suggest getting some stick on weights for automotive rims and add a little weight at a time until the front end gets better bite. also ditch the talons as they suck on clay.

I would suggest the LT rockers with the LT springs included, and a sway bar kit. works best for me at the track ;]

thanks for the advise guys i am going to the track tomorrow so i will let you know what the result is. i am going to try the stick on weights first thing as the front doesn't bite at all. and i to agree the talons suck, but those are all i have for now. that could and probably will change by tues.(shop closed tomorrow) lol. which springs are for the long travel by the way? i have them just not sure which ones they are.

no offense revo3.3racer but the regular rockers will work better on the track with the stiffer springs. i used to use the LT setup and i had way to much roll in the cornors so i switched to regular rockers (that come on it out of the box) along with the stiff springs (that come with the truck to use with the LT rockers) and a fairly soft suspension setting. works GREAT for me. you dont get as much roll in the cornors when you turn.

thats another prob i have is a lot of roll. if i move the pushrods from middle hole to inner hole would that help?

yea it would help
mine is on the outer hole with the setup i said above. so it sits low and performs awesome on the track.

i think he meant the outer hole(lower the truck) I run the lower hole as well and roll in the turns is non-existent pretty much. Biggest issue you will have is getting the front end to get a good bite.

Actually thats why i suggested the sway bar kit. Because the LT rockers are Great on track just that it doesn't have as good handling with the LT compared to the regural rockers, BUT when you use the sway bar kit , With the LT kit. Its great at the track and really good handling.

well i am going to go mess with it now since wife and kids are done for the night lol i will get some pics on in a little while and show you what it looks like
