Damn, wish I woulda seen that. I need to browse the bay more ofton I think. yeah, that tranny case alone sells for what you paid.. or close at least

Well, if it's really a hardcore case, that's about $140 on it's own. The UE FOC gears are $60 and the RRP is $35. I think the one-way is $20, but I can't remember. I don't know how much the strobe slipper is... if it's like RRP's, it's around $30. That adds up to $265. So, yes, good deal!

The only problem I see (I think), is the spur gear. It's 1/8 scale pitch which means you will need to get a new clutch/clutch bell/flywheel combo to get it to work. But, it will only fit on a 21 chassis. So, if you don't have a 21 lengthened chassis, you will either have to find a 1/10 gear that will fit the slipper, or not use it.

olds97_lss got it! It is a great deal but, you will need to spend some more money if you want to use it! The Super 6 is made for use with 1/8 diff gearing and will not work well with stock diffs. You can either buy UE 6 or 8 spyder diffs or get the UE Super 4 FOC kit which is made for use with the stock diffs. Plus you will need a 1/8 clutch bell if you plan on using the Strob slipper.

I am going to put the steel 72 tooth gear on it that I already have. Will the Super6 FOC make the truck acellerate faster or raise its top end with the stock diffs. I eventually plan on getting the complete SuperMaxx but just got this as my first part.

I am not sure where the gearing will be with the 72 tooth spur but, I know that they don't recommend running it that way. If it is drivable? 14 tooth CB (1/8) and the 51 tooth spur on the strob may work to get the gearing right with stock diffs?

Why is it not recommended to run the 72 tooth supr and stock diffs with the SUperMaxx Super6 FOC? I thought that it would just do the same thing as changing the clutch. I want it to acceleate a little harder anyway.

I think it's a different gear ratio, but I think that's only in the UE diffs, not the trans. I can't say for sure, but you should be fine.

I read all of UE's info on it a year or so ago, and I really don't want to read it all again. You can... I don't have the itch for a supermaxx anymore, I went with a savage. I treat my sport maxx like a red-headed stepchild though... I beat the piss out of that thing and it just keeps coming back.

The Super 6 has a different gear ratio then the stock tranny gears. The Super 6 is made for the gear ratio that the 1/8 diffs have. A stock spur and clutch bell will give you much more top end but, nothing off the line. If you want the real low down about gearing and what will and will not work with this setup then go to the UE forum where you can get more help then I can offer.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that. I thought it was just the diffs that were different.

This is from thier site for the diffs:
These do lower your overall gear ratio, you will need to gear your truck up.
Maxx R&P ratio is 2.85:1
7.5 R&P ratio is 3.31:1

For this reason you must upgrade both ends of the truck at the same time. Do not try to mix ratios.

If running 22/72 with the Maxx ring and pinion, 23/65 would be the identical ratio with the 7.5s
I’m running 22/66 at the moment. It has tons of bottom end, but feels like it could use some more top. Though there is no question the truck is fast even on a large track. (I had a 23 but it had a problem and I’ve not gotten it replaced yet.)

This is all that I saw that let you know the FOC may not be a viable option to use for you:
* Optimized for the 7.5 differentials. We upped the gear ratio from the stock .93:1 to .86:1 to help compensate for the lower ratio of 7.5 differential gears which are the favorites of .21 runners everywhere.
* Fits inside any transmission cases made to Traxxas standard - no modifications necessary.
* Introductory price of $99.99

These gears begin life as a bar of steel over an inch and a quarter in diameter!

The kit is optimized for the high horsepower truck. It was designed with the 7.5 differential gears & 1/8th clutches in mind. It's light weight will keep the impact on acceleration to a minimum. High strength should take anything we can throw at it. Extremely high horsepower is no problem.

Maybe if you run smallest cb and largest spur you can find, you might be ok.
