SUPER tires

I made a few changes to my Tmaxx in the last couple of weeks. First, I upgraded from a .15 to the 2.5, then added the ACNCM monster cooling head. Then I added a metal tuned pipe. I think it's a MIB. Don't remember, it used to be on another engine. I had already added the Pro Line low/wide suspension over a year ago.
Yesterday I was running with another Tmaxx that had a Sirio .18 in it, and I could sneak ahead of him on the straightaway, but he would wipe me in the turns.
While refueling and comparing, we figured it was tires. I was running stock, and he had Pro Line Maxx Mulcher tires.
I bought a set.
WOW, I just went from a high speed dump truck to a Ferrari.
I run on a dusty clay track, and with these tires it's a whole new ride. Instead of slipping and spinning out on a hard start, it wheelies in a straight line, and cornering is now a TOTALLY controllable drift, instead of an instant spin out.
Definately a recommendation from me.

Good stuff to know man. I'm new to the maxx scene, and I hear some tires are better than others, but never heard a description like you just put down.

I just figured they handle like they handle and that's it, I'm definetaly going to get a set other than stock now

His is running great. He showed up today, and with a dusty clay track sticky today due to an earlier rain it took a few laps to get the feel. I got him a few times zagging to the inside when he zigged, but we ran tight. I can squeak past him on the straightaway.
I made several changes at the same time, so I'm not sure what accounts for my 2.5 running so well, but the big head is part of it.
The tuned pipe was on my .15, and now has a 90 degree copper fitting between the manifold pipe and the tuned pipe, so the expansion area is a bit larger.
I ran 6 tanks today, and it never stalled once. I had to pull the lid off several times just to prove to other guys that I was running a 2.5.

I must admit that when I first started the hobby, I thought tires didnt make a damn like that did on real cars since they were just so small, but when I went form the stock tires on my Storm to my XTM "Bricks" I could just tell a diffrence. I'm not a racer just bahs but it climbed better, slide easier to a side and propelled forward. Tires are really important

I will be running on a hard bluegroove track next week.

I don't plan to run the new tires on asphalt, since I don't want to wear down the nubs. I'll use my stock tires for that.
WOW!!! Today was a GREAT day. SUPER tires. If the Tmaxx with the Sirio hadn't wasted me in all the tight turns, I would have stayed happy with stock. What an intense difference.

dont Worry, You'll catch his happy go lucky ass out one day and lay a smack down. After spanking his ride, just pack up your poop and leave without saying anything, and a large smile. He'll be like WTF? and spedn the whole day screwing around with setting, lol.

i have only heard good things about the Maxx Mulchers. I think most racers use them, they get good traction. dont know how long they last though..

LOL, wasteland. I'd love to do that with someone, but we've hit it off pretty good.
Max Trooper, if I stay off asphalt I would probably get a good life out of them. When they wear out, I'm getting another set.
As far as why my 2.5 is running like an .18, I did another modification that I hadn't mentioned.
It was just done as an experiment, and I don't know yet if it makes a difference, but I removed the pressure line and replaced it with a copper ice maker line, (1/8" soft copper tube) and only use the fuel line for the connections to the pipe and the tank. I'm wondering if I'm getting smoother pressure instead of the throbbing you would get through fuel line.

Okay, got some info. He's running a different gear on the clutch bell for more low end punch.
Well, today I stripped my spur gear and went from 72 to 70. WHOA !! what a high end I got.
He said he was going to go back to the stock gearing.
His brother had his car there today, with stock tires. Now he ordered a set of the Maxx Mulchers.

The Mulchers are the ticket. I've run stock HPI, Maxx Mashers and Mulchers on my Savage, and the Mulchers are by far my favorite on dry loose surfaces (including sand). But, on watered clay track, oftentimes the Mulchers are too grippy. I like jumping, and if I'm not completely strait on landing, the Mulchers will dig in and flip my truck every time. Sometimes it pisses me off that the track gets watered as much as it does, but I understand the owners reason and can't fault him (keeping the dust down and the neighbors off his back). But the Mulchers are the schizle.

My neighbor owns the LHS, and I was there with him after closing as he was writing up his order. I had him order several sets since I would be pushing them big time. Wow are they impressive.
