hey fellas. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with a super charger on a revo or t-maxx or really anything. Just wondering if they really make a difference or what they do. I do know they are really expensive. Thanks

Basically, they force more air into the engine, making it run very lean. Running nitro engines very lean decreases the life of it. According to the pros, it's not worth it to put a supercharger on a 2-stroke nitro engine, and most of the time they don't work.

oh ok i didnt know that. Thanks. I just bought a brand new 3.3 engine and i dont have the money to buy a super charger just to ruin my new engine. i found a brand new one for 50 bucks most of the time they are over a 100 so thats why i was asking. But thanks again. You saved my engine. LOL

bang for your buck

their is 3 nitrous kits on ebay now for a 100 bucks complete NX_brand i haven't used this brand but should work like RB nos kit ...one warning though when running nos run your fuel on the rich side and you'll be safe..

I am not to interested in the nos kits. I just wanted some extra power for my t-maxx. i would like to make it a big block but i dont know what the biggest engine i can use without have to change a lot of stuff.

i know that but i thought only some engines will work cause some are to large to mount on a stock chassis. i would like a .26 or something close to that range.

I would not reccomend the super charger at all. If someone made a nice supercharger that was designed with performance in mind, it might be worth considering. The supercharger that you're referring to is very ineefficient, and needs quite a bit of modifying to make it work. Basically, you can buy an engine for just a little bit more money, and have more than enough power on tap.

The Ofna Picco Max .26 is a direct bolt in for the T-Maxx, as is the OS21TM. The OS is a better motor IMO, but it's also expensive. The picco is a nice motor and it's more economical I believe. If you have a 3.3 T-Maxx (or 2.5R) you can put it in and go until you tear something up, but if it's a 2.5 T-Maxx you will need to upgrade the transmission internals, or swap in a 3.3 tranny, to handle the extra power. You're also eventually going to need to upgrade the drivelines.

There's also an RB or sirio (or maybe both?) .23 that's a drop in for the maxx, but I don't know a lot about it. One of our veterans recently sold one, and I REALLY regret not buying it for my maxx shelf queen project.

if you want extra power, try going with a tuned pipe if you havent already.

i had a couple 3.3's and still wanted more. got my new sirio .23 in now . still breaking it in but i can tell it's what i was wanting. came with everything, bolt in for $170:D
