Ok So I picked up a T-maxx for $90, barely broken in. Everything mint cranked ran and idled perfect. I've machined my own aluminum undercarriage make a working KC light rack, independent power supply with blue under glow.

I'm going over to a full aluminum chassis soon and going to add a NOS
kit. These are all things I'm familiar with but I recently stumbled across the fact that you can buy super chargers for them..

I was wondering if any one has any experience with these and are they worth the $150.. I figure i got a $400 truck for 90. leave me some money to put into it.

Get two and double the power!!.......JK they are crap, you'll ruin your engine. You should save your NOS and supercharger money for a quality engine instead.....Unless it's going to sit on the shelf 24/7.:rolex:

Congrats on the good buy man just fyi tho I believe u got those tires on backwards (not upside down tho lol) but like these guys said just a novelty super and turbochargers don't work as exhaust and intake ports are open at same time meanin all the extra air pushed into the motor goes right back out essentially the exhaust port sits higher than the intake port (standard cars have valves that shut to hold the air in) however I don't kno science behind y the nos doesn't work but I looked into turbos right when I got mine too so

Also to anyone who may know I was just thinkin would it b possible in any way to make an exhaust with enough backpressure to maybe hold a lil bit of boost or would it have to be so restrictive to do it that truck wouldn't run or would act like my 2.5 with stock pipe lol

Superchargers, Turbos, NOS is all just "bling" to impress the not knowing and so little kids can say "WOW!"

My opinion...slap a $600 9 port Novarossi in there and you'll be fine. Italian engineering, the best. That's if you'd like to fly and impress hehe.

Well.

That isn't exactly a correct assessment. The ports don't stay open all the
time or there would be no compression. And yes people my tires are on reverse
tread. I intentionally did this because I've been playing in allot of lose pea stone. Actually adds to the traction..I do it on my 4 wheelers also when I'm going mudding... And I know for a fact that the NOS for these are not just
a novelty. I've had several with NOS on them.. It does infact make a large difference if timed and set up right..

Thanks for everyone's input. I guess I'll just buy one and do my own research..
Doesn't matter I figure when I'm done with it in the next month or 2 ill have about 2-3 grand into it.. Going all aluminum and carbon fiber..

So why did you bother to ask our opinions if you were not going to follow the advice you were given anyway? We had another member here do the exact same thing with that very product and regreted his decission to do what he wanted anyway, and ended up pulling that pos off his engine. It would be much wiser to put that same money in to a much better engine. But hey, it's your money, piss it away if you want, as everyone else stated...NOVELTY!

As far as the ports go (and someone correct me if I'm wrong on this) the ports aren't like a car where there's a moving piece to open and close them that's what I mean when I say they stay open but (this is where I may b wrong but I found it noted many times in 4hrs of research about them) the top of the exhaust port sits a hair higher than the intake meaning air will stop bein pushed in because piston is blockin the intake port and the exhaust is still slightly open therefor it will return back to regular atmospheric pressure=no boost just money spent that could've been put towards a bad a** engine that would smoke a nos/turbo 3.3 and last longer too as nos will raise your operating temps that's my two cents but if u wanna check pull ur motor apart and look how the ports sit its essentially like boosting a car with an exhaust valve that doesn't close the boost go bye bye but ur call
PS-since ur goin novelty n all for power I hear a spoiler and a couple flame stickers will get about 2 more hp out of that motor:) lol jk man but if u do try it please post results and vid here so we can see how it does and good luck

I say go for it, who cares what a bunch of experienced guys say, what does experience and knowledge get ya? Why learn the easy way and save a bunch of money? Thats stupid, might as well go against experience and learn the hard way. Makes more sense that way.

That's the "don't confuse me with facts, my minds already made up" method. It will make a purdy paper weight once he realizes, on his own of course, that it'a a total pos!

So you said you were going to do your own research, how bout trying the search feature and read what others here who have used it have to say, but nah, why do that when you can waste your money only to find out its crap! That's much smarter.

Let the man do it gentelmen...I got first dibbs on it for 5 bucks after he pulls it off realizing its truly a pos. I need a mini supercharger for decor in my garage. It'll look real nice next to my model cars and bikes hehe.

Ugh every time someone starts on those superchargers it turns into a heated debate.. the cost as much as an engine on average.. I mean if someone really wants to make their rig fly and dump a buttload of money into it, do the big block conversion and toughen up the trans and drivetrain.. oh wait.. thats not a simple "bolt on and go" project

From all i have read all they do is push more air which makes it leaner and hotter and kills the motor. Squirrelod on youtube did a video about them. he actually ran a motor for x number of tanks then ran another with the supercharger and took both of them apart and the sc fried it pretty much. It would be neat if it did work but the way those motors work a sc doesn't increase hp. They do look cool tho. If I was building a shelf queen I would get one.

I just did a constant wheelie on my mini-bike. I'll post a video of me doing it in the dark. It's a little loud because I took off the muffler to annoy my neighbors.

What's my name?
