Plaid I agree with you, but the fan on the engine did help, minimally. First let me say it was on a HPI .15FE which barely produced any power in the first place. The fan maybe gave it .05 more horse power and like 3,000 RPM. I think it just made it easier for the engine to vacum in the air since it was already being shoved in.
 
AC48 if the fan rpm incresed as engine rpm increased it would probably have idled quite well
 
Yes probably, but the fan was either on or off, there was no adlusting how fast it went unless we could somehow limit the current to and give it more and more as the servo opeed which would have been very difficult. Also it kept falling off, so we jsut decided it wasn't worth it.
 
how else would you raise the exhaust port? also if you are off and don't release pressure soon enough (location of port) or just enough period (size/shape of port) you can have a nice lil grenade on your truck

I didn't mean raise the entire inlet port just the top of it so making it bigger
 
That's a tough one to figure.....If you just raise the top of it to let it exhaust faster you are also shortening the time for it to build compresiion.....I could see it maybe working if you could raise the entire port so you still have the exhaust earlier but then the time needed to build pressure.......I say do the transfer porting before messing w/ the exhaust.....I'm going to look for a timing wheel so I can get a better understanding of where to port sleeves...anyone know anything about those critters?? I haven't searched yet thought just popped in the noggin.....are they universal or do they have stock timing scribed in the metal for specific crank/sleeve combos
