the main reason people think superchargers don't work on a nitro is because the exhaust port is open after the inlet so all the compression goes out the exhaust. if you adjusted the port timing so the inlet closes slightly after the exhaust would this provide better power or screw up the engine so it doesn't run

I dont believe it is true that the superchargers dont work on all nitros, just not 2 strokes. I think it would be possible to make an effecient charged 2-stroke, but it wouldnt be easy.

yes its alot but i ment to say a few points of a mm like 0.3mm

That clears it up,cause i looked at my tape measure thinking wtf is going on in his head for that one,but it might work, you should try it for everybody.

any thoughts on how it will blow up if it does

also probably need to save up for a new .46 truckzilla as a backup
my s-25s crankcase is buggered and the case (Edit and new piston +sleeze and crank) costs nearly as much as a whole engine an engine

Thought on blowing up,if it does i don't think it would hurt anything around it,unless your motor just explodes,i don't think i would use a .46 for this, because of the price of the motor,i would use something cheaper, like a hpi nitro star,or a os,each motor would be differnt though,if you use the .46,i would buy a new sleeve, piston, rod, bearings for it just incase you fry it,

Can you dyno the motor before and after?

only downside with using the .46 is the $110 rebuild. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJKM4&P=7

You are right it can be done for 4-stokes and it has been. I saw an add, in RCCA I think it was, that OS is making a 4-Stroke, supercharged (belt driven from the crank) marine engine that runs on nitro.

As far as the 2-Stroke supercharger, it is possible in a way. My friend hooked up a little tiny fan on his intake that blew air into the carb very fast. The problems were that it would not idle cause it would just blow all the fuel right out, it only worked at high rpms and the difference was noticeable, it allowed the engine to spin more rpms and it had a bit more power, but you just couldn't idle even for like 2 seconds.

AC48 was the fan at a constant RPM

Got nitro? sorry no dyno

and i want to keep my existing truckzilla as is so i can still run while working on the supercharged one

also i don't think there is much difference in price between the truckzilla .46(just the engine not the entire kit) and the s-25

screw the ss-25,if your gonna do it,just use the .46 that way you can swap engines to see if you can feel a differnce.

so you got it kinda figured out,all you need to do now is find someway to dyno it,then tune it to the safest spot for running, then show everybody.

No clue, you may have to open it up a tiny bit but i dunno,i don't have a .46 to go off of.

Yes it was at a constant RPM. Basically it just helped the engine get more air flowing faster so it hit higher RPMs with a little more power, wasn't worth it cause of the idle problem so he got rid of it.

I'd have to see that one dyno'd to see a difference....I just can't see a small fan pulling more air than the vacuum created by a piston chugging 25,000+ RPMs.....sounds like a neat looking add for a shelf queen but the air flow issue I don't see happening.....you guys are all speculating on a 2-stroke supercharger and how to modify the timing??? you need to make a new sleeve.....how else would you raise the exhaust port? also if you are off and don't release pressure soon enough (location of port) or just enough period (size/shape of port) you can have a nice lil grenade on your truck......unless you can just piss money like water I wouldn't recommend trying this project....cool idea but man the headaches would kill people....
