sugestions plz for new engine for savage xl

just wondering if ne one knows of a good replacement engine for the savage xl k5.9 .36 i realy want something that has either the same amount of torque and speed or more and mayb something that is a bit easier to tune but not necesary and around the $150-$300aud mark

Either Picco .28 (199.99 on most sites) or LRP .28 spec3 (169.99) Both are far supirior to the K5.9 engine.

like samrsnow said, i'd go with one of those two. I personally would go with the LRP .28 spec3. I've heard nothing but GREAT things about those engines

just one more thing this may sound silly but was wondering with the picco and the lrp spec3 .28 engines doesn't the .28 mean the bore size of the engine ifso the k5.9 .36 has a bigger bore so doesn't that mean that it would be better than a .28 engine

A bigger bore gives you more torque. A smaller bore gives you more rpms. Not to mention that both the picco and lrp have a more radical port timing.

So a cen gst 7.7 .46 engine wouldnt be ne good for it then ? Specialy speed wise

well I've made a decision nearly I'm down to 2 either the lrp .28 spec 3 or the lrp .30 spec 2 n what would be the better one of the the two i need lots of top speed for jumping and bashing

I say that .28. It's an 8 port versus th3 .30 with 5 ports.
