I need a little help with my electric build. This is what I have so far done:

Now I’m working on the receiver box and I’m a little stumped. Inside the receiver box I’ve put the receiver and I know I run the steering servo wire into the box, but there are some things I’m not sure about (don’t laugh at me, lol). There are two sets of wires coming off the ESC. One is an on/off switch and the other plugs into the throttle slot of the receiver. Now I’m guessing that I should cut the on/off switch wire and lengthen it so it can be mounted in the receiver box? And the last puzzling piece is since the lipo battery connects to the ESC, how do I get power to the receiver?

I just servo tape the switch to the side of the ESC. It doesn't need to go in the radio box. If you like, sure...you can put it anywhere you want. The ESC lead needs to go to your receiver though of course.

I would just use the switch blank on the radio box though and either cut off the switch....or mount it to the ESC itself ;-)

You can definitely cut and lengthen the on off switch if you want to. As for the rest of your questions. Your ESC powers the RX and every thing that plugs into it. the rest of your questions and some stuff you probably havent thought of can be found on my BEC video from my youtube chnnel. Are you saying I don't need the switch, just plug in the lipo and go?

Nice vid. Looks like some work. I went with the Tekin because I heard the ESC was better than the Castle for running the electronics.

a switch is more for convenience so ya dont have to keep unplugging the hump pack and possibly stretching the connectors thin. but otherwise yeah you could do it for the intrim

yeah the rx8 is way better. but i use castles too. but the same concept appliesto the rx8's also

No switch needed. When I ran Castle stuff I always snipped the switch off and soldered the leads together. The Castle switches SUCK. The Tekin RX8 I've been running the past few months doesn't seem to have the same issues, but first sign of a problem and I'll chop this one off too.

Castle makes good stuff....Tekin makes good stuff. I think the Tekin has a few better features though personally.

My hotwire came in the mail today and I didn't see any settings for the RX8 on a XB808E kit on the Tekin site. Where can I find a good profile setting to start out with?

I run the RX8 in my Losi SCTE with 10* of timing, 80% Current Limiter and the Linear Throttle profile. Drag brake is off as well. Not that it helps much in eBuggy....but that's what I'm using in 4WD ;-)

After I calibrated the ESC with the transmitter, selected motor type and battery, I got a baseline by using the specs from a Tekin team driver then started tweaking it from there to suite me. This buggy is amazing, it was kind of weird not smelling or hearing nitro, but fun all the same.

Yeah, I usually try to take one of each with me bashing so I can play around with the best of both worlds
