Stubborn bolts

how do you guys remove stubborn hex bolts? i'm trying to take the carb off my hyper 8 port and i'm haveing no luck at all!

Any suggestions welcomed

Spray some Kroil on the bolt and let it sit for a few minutes and try again. Just be careful not to strip it or you will really be up a creek with no paddle.

Are the bolts not moving or are they stripped? If they are not moving put a little more brute force behind them. If they are stripped then you're looking at either an easy out or vise grips.

Did you try using the next driver size. You might get lucky. If that doesn't work you can try an easy out or slot the head with a dremel cutting wheel.

I have the same engine. There are two of these "bolts". If you loosen the one on the other side, you should be good to go. They kind of screw into each other to act as a clamp on the neck of the carb.

Aside from that, the dremmel idea should work. You could also try a little WD-40 sprayed around the edge of the "bolt" let it seep into the fitting for a little and give it a try.

sky your idea worked i got the other side loose and it came out. I"m putting the carb from the Rb that i just got. The crank shaft was cut on the rb so its of no use for me.

Happy to have helped. Had you not posted the picture of the "bolts" in question, I would not have been able to make that suggestion. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Good luck with the RB carb. Let us know how it works.

You do know that you can replace the crank shaft on the RB to get a functional engine out of it, right?

the rb wasn't new....yea its just my lhs doen'st carry the crank for it and i'm just gonna wait a while before i order the new one because i'm moveing back to maine, so i'll just order it from home.
