Well, with my recent axial kick in the crotch, I'm on the hunt for a new low priced engine that will have decent power for my AS. I did a search but found old info about this engine. I'm curious to know the info for those that have had it for some time. How has it held up, how much fuel have you run through it, would you buy it again, what was/is it in... those kinds of things.

The M26SS is running ok, but is still fickle on the tune. Likes to run a bit hot, 250F-270F average. With a set of losi zombie maxx's and the transmission gear flip mod, it pulls wheelies pretty much everywhere. But, as with any low dollar engine that runs hot, I have a feeling it's life will not be long. I have about a gallon through it now, but I have it running pretty consistent.

I still might tear the axial apart, clean the carb and see if something is just gummed up... It can't be as gutless as it was recently when I attempted installing it in the AS.

Thanks guys.

My STS 28 has 4 gallons on it and just keeps getting stronger. I would buy another one in a second. The front bearing probably needs replacing but 4 gallons of use and I should replace a $4.99 part is pretty good to me. I have seen these engines run at over 300 degrees and perform perfect just sounds rough. (the instructions say not to take the temp over 248 degrees.) But mine has huge power at 215 degrees. So I hardly ever get it over 225. With a 7mm carb insert and running at 220 I can get around 7 minutes of runtime on the track. And I run a huge track! I have it it my Jammin CRT.

I love STS mills, and am also sellin them too.

The D28M is an awesome engine. But due to the fact that other .28's have recently dethroned it from being the most powerful .28, sts has a NEW .28 coming out soon. Instead of it being a 3 port, they have a 5 port that is/has been designed for racers. Or in other words, its a bigger D21B. Those will take a little than less than a month to get in.

PM me a link to where I can buy them from you and when I do, then I'll have the info needed.

I'm not necessarily looking for gobs of power. A little more than the stock M26SS would be just fine with me. I'd just like something that doesn't need to be leaned out further than I'd like to get the front wheels off the ground. I like to have enough power in an engine to run around 210-240, but still give me the power I want.

With the M26SS, it doesn't run well when it's tuned rich. Stalls frequently and gets blubbery quickly when idling. With it tuned so it runs well and doesn't stall, the temps are typically between 245F - 260F.

what do you want for starting? Roto, pullstart or standard back plate? I'm gettin my website going. right now its pretty generic... hopefully you use firefox for now.

www.maxpages.com/kemorc is my temporary site. I do things via pay pal.
