Your dad sounds like a man after my own heart!

Why do you need to replace it if it's discolored? They get that way after you run a little fuel through them. Hows the pinch? That's what tells you if you need a rebuild.

If you can push the piston to and possibly through the top of the sleeve, it needs re-pinched or replaced.

It seem's kinda loose,Ill probablly have it repinched,The whole engine's all goobered up,I have to break every piece down and clean it because of the way it was taken care of,It's has gob's of crap,dirt inside.It's basiclly in need of major help.
