I'm trying to narrow down the problem with my gears. i dont really want to buy the wrong parts (buget is kinda tight right now) but anyway, i lock down the tranny so it can't move. hold the front end up and roll the truck on the back wheels and it slips. i turn the truck around and do the same and it dont slip. I'm thinking that it is my rear diffs are stripped and not the tranny. it sux to have to tear it all down again after replacing the rear bulkhead, i would like your guys opinion on this...

Sounds like a dif, the tranny is pretty easy to remove though. 4 screws from the bottom and the two pins that go through the shafts. Then 6 screws that hold the tranny halves together. Only takes about ten minutes to have it out. Quicker way to eliminate the tranny as the problem.

Thats what it was, I took everything apart. tranny was fine. the ring and pinion was stripped out. found a differential on ebay. I'm glad it wasn't the tranny also. few more days and ill be up and runnin'..

Been alot of that lately from what I have read on different forums, this being one of them. I guess I've been lucky.
