Can someone tell me if there is a better rear bulkhead out there somewhere? This is now 2 times in a row this damn thing has broken. This time it was a simple rollover not 12 feet of air landing on the wing. Theres got to be something better or another way to mount the wing. I love this buggy and have tons of fun getting big, long air, but theres got to be something out there to beef this up.. Please give me some input, thoughts, or some ideas. Thx.

GS is now carrying ergal parts for the storm(well this is new to me anyway!) Just today I broke my rear diff case on a bad landing, I am searching this site right now for the parts I need, I dont know if I will be putting the wing back on at all, if you land straight down on the rear you are bound to break the diff case or bulk head brace every time! This sucks! and it happens because of the way the wing is atached to it!, I was able to ca glue and zip tie to finish the day. I will replace these with ergal and see if I can either figure out a way to make a break away wing or just 86 the wing all together, here is a link to what I am looking at, sorry if you have been there already, this ergal stuff s new to me and I hope its a stronger alternative! good luck!

I've been searching also. I saw that Ergal bulkhead brace on the front page. It does'nt look like it will do to much. I'm rackin my brain as to retro something to give the bulk some more support. Keep me posted if you come up with anything and I'll do the same. Thx.

Where's Harcore when you need them !!!!

mine broke 1 time and i just drilled straight threw the wing holes and put a longer allen bolt with a flat washer and a locknut after that no more probs.......

Thx anyway mwbmod74. Been there. Done something similar, and it's not holding up like I want it to.

I just picked up a bunch of hop up 7075 parts for my storm today, I gave up looking for a stronger bulkhead and just ordered two stock ones, I did get the stronger rear shock tower(dynamite) and hope this will help, well I know it will help, I think I just need to learn how to land better, as far as mounting the wing,, any one have a better idea? I was just sitting here looking at this and I can't think of a decent break away wing idea that would be strong enough, or,, does the wing really matter that much?

Damn with all the jumping I did with my Storm, all I ever did was bend the shocktower... maybe I just have good Karma? :D

BBW, it must be the Karma! NM, let me tell you that I had the HC ti rear shock tower on when I broke this thing for the second time. It does not add any strength to the bulk. As for a fix, i'm working on that one now. ( i've been very busy lately ). I picked up a piece of angled aluminum from Home Depot. It just needs to be cut and drilled. I think it should cure the problem. I'll be posting pics soon and will give it the test on Sat. or Sun.

Yes please do so RoadRunner! I have some angled aluminum here already so if I can see how you do it, that would be great. Even though I haven't broken one... better to prevent than repair!

I noticed you lived in new York,, are you jumping this thing off skyscrapers or something?, seriously! I have jumped my storm several times and this is the first bulkhead, other than the swim my car took a few weeks ago, I have only replaced rcvr, switch and servos and I was flyin again, all it took was one bad landing on the wing and bam! broken bulkhead! So , I have to ask, are you constantly landed straight down on the wing like I did? If you have access to welding equiptment you could always double up on the rear shock tower, this is just an idea, I have heard of some one doing this but not on a storm, I know it would take some modifying because of the way the tower attaches to the bulk, but I am sure it can be done! I ordered a bunch of parts today and added an extra bulk just for a bash box back up!
let me know how it goes for ya !

NM, sorry, no skyscraper jumping goin on over here. My first break was due to landing straight down on the wing. The second time was a cartwheel ( something i'm notorious for with my Maxx).I'm just trying to make something to prevent this from happening again. Give me a few more minutes and i'll post some pics. I just finished a rough cut of a brace that I think is gonna work...

BBW, i'm in Deer Park till Nov. 30. After that i'll be in East Northport. Do you know any good places to run the buggies?

Look for new thread; Bulkhead Fix.... Coming soon.
