I just finished installing a Novak 2s lipo cut off and am trying to run 2s 5000mah 20c lipos. Everything is stock, gearing, esc, rx, tx, everything. The problem I'm having is that off the line it doesn't take off, it kinda jerks forward a few times before it takes off. Then after a few feet it slows down to almost a complete stop and does it again, before it takes off again. Anyone have similar problems or a fix for this?

From what I have heard the Novak or any lipo cut off for that matter is not compatible with the stock Slash ESC, So unless something has changed recently you will just have to keep a eye on it and as soon as you start to see a little drop in performance take the battery out, you could also get one of those deals that plugs into the balance port and tells you the batteries voltage and check it every so often, either way it will be a guessing game, the only other option that comes to mind is to go with something like a Castle Creations Sidewinder that has a lipo cut off built in, then you just have to stay out of the water or water proof it some how...

Well that blows a goat!
Thanks for the information though. I'm getting an sc10 soon, I guess I'll try it in that. Gotta take the leads off the battery connections and pray that I don't burn this truck up! HAHA!

Gonna get a Novak 8.5 from amain. Been eyeballin it for a bit and it seems like it'll be the best BL motor/ESC combo for my use.

Thanks again!

Can anyone tell me what this is called? Can't find it....saw one at the lhs but I want to shop around

Yeah the Stock XL5 won't work with any LIPO cutoffs. I run an LVA (Low Voltage Alarm) instead. Just plugs into the balance port and starts screaming when the voltage gets low ;-)
