Hey Ppl. I Was Curious How Much The Stock Futaba TF-4 Radio and reciver is. My Old Radios Antena Broke And My Antena On My Reciver Broke. I Was Looking At The 3pm Futaba Radio. But I Decided That i Dont Need N e thing That Fancy.......But If The Prices Are Close To The Same Or The TF-4 Is More Then Ill Go With The 3pm.

Thanks

Mark

How much are you willing to spend? Also, don't skimp on the radio equipment if you can. That's the only "life line" between you and the car. If you can afford a little bit more, go with the better model.

Another cheap replacement if you don't want reverse is the futaba 2PL, it's like $90 I believe. I own one, and I think it's only fault is AM because I have had a few frequency problems before. That's why my next radio is gonna be a FM Synthasized, or a DSM system.

well I'm gettin the 3pm just as of right now i only had enough money to get a new antenna and A reciver.

I have used a Futaba 2PL for a bit now, and think it's a pretty good radio. I just ordered a 3PM, so I am selling my 2PL.

you dont need a new RX if just the antenna wire is cut. Open the Rx unit up. Follow the antenna to were it meets the board. De- solder it and resolder a new peice of wire. Length should be around a 1.5 to 2 feet. Rx antenna size is not a big issue it doesn't have to be a wave length long like tx antennas. Obviously cause it would be like 40 feet long for the antenna.
