Decided to try out the a stock chassis and see if all the aerodynamics I did to the speed truck were worth a darn. Also this picco is not the same picco I reached 74.9 with, its my first picco that was not meant for this lol. Anyhoo, ERCM Picco 28 (Torque Monster) and ERCM Endbleed, with 20/23t gearing. There is zero aerodynamics to this truck, just raw power. I would have reached 72 if I had a new plug, rest asured I will go faster and I hope to match or beat my current record of 74.9 with this truck.

Kind of funny I spent all that time turning a savage into a car almost only to go just about as fast in stock trim. Thats ERCM power!!!

Very nice!

I'm not one in to speed runs - BUT I respect what goes in to it (i.e. tenacity toward this hobby). For me it's off-road handling and durability. This is the great thing about the Savage. They provide a base platform that allows you to go whatever direction you like. I also like the fact you are keeping the chassis stock. Anyone can turn any vehicle into something else - but keeping the integrity of what the vehicle is and still obtaining one's goals is the true reward....at least in my experience.

That is extremely impressive! And I'm with nerd, I have tons of respect for the fact that it's still a Savage. Why spend countless hours playing with aerodynamics to cut a hole in the air, when you can just keep piling on HP and hammer out that same hole? :D

If I had the money to replace the broken parts I would jump it at 70 but I dont. But in the video there is a slight bump in the road just after I enter the top end of 3rd and the truck does lift off the gorund about 2-3 inches, not crazy I know but at this point its already above 60mph so anything can happen if it got a little squirely lol.

I to agree that the Savage platform as unlimited possibilities, for that it is why its my favorite RC.

All I did was put my HPI LCG Carbon Fiber X plates on and the stock fuel tank. The weight is 9.4lbs with half a tank :) believe it or not but this is actually lighter than my speed truck!

Heres my XL doin runs

Sense it's a speed truck make it toe wheel drive takein out the front diff and axles and front drive shaft put 100,000 diff weight in the rear diff and try that that's what I got done with some other things to my xl and like a 2wd sport quad lol

My purpose built speed truck was rwd but I filled the diff with 1000wt, my twin flux is rwd and it's filled with 500,000wt. In these videos I'm running the stock diff fluid, don't really know the wt of it. But when I rebuild the diffs, I may go something along the lines of thicker than 500k.

Have you experimented with bodies and doing speed runs? Curious to see how they effect the truck at that speed.

I have, this here is my purpose built machine and I reached 74.9mph with it. Right now I'm just experimenting with no body just to see the limits. Then it's full aero time. My testing shows me I can reach 75 with the current setup but I have a few more ideas on how to pass that. Honestly I never saw this motor performing as well as it has. The sleeve has 6 gallons thru it and the piston has a gallon. This motor is the one that that a scored piston and I stopped using it at 59mph. But it relives!
