i have a hpi nitro mt with the stock .15 motor. having trouble getting it tuned right it runs fine but it wont sit on the ground and idle. everytime i go to stop it shuts off. it makes it hard to drive when you can't stop. any thought of what i might be doing wrong please help. (did what the manuel said)

So your engine is dieing when you hit the breaks if so its a simple adjustment.
There will be a screw with a spring around it. Adjust that so that when you have the brakes on there should be a 1mm gap in the carb. The problem is that your idle adjustment isn't high enough and when you it the break it also pushes the carb back in and kills the engine. Get it?
Get it so that it idles good with full brakes on and you should be good to go. Also set your throttle trim on your radio to zero and adjust from there.

Don't adjust the idle till you have turned the trim knob down to zero, then look into the carb and adjust it to the approximate opening with the brake applied.

i live in uniontown, and when i adjust the idle screw shoud i tighten where the spring is all the way compressed and just back it out slowly from there?

take the filter of the carb so you can see inside , if your opening is less than 1mm tighten the screw, if its more than 1 mm(shouldn't be because of the nature of your problem) then you loosen it. you dont need to compress the spring all the way, just go the quickest way to get the 1mm gap and you should be pretty good.

i adjusted the carb to the 1mm with the brake applied but when the carb is at the 1mm opening the car wont start. the only way i can get it to start is adjust the trim on the controller till the carb is almost all the way open then i can turn the trim back down but not to the 1mm opeing or it stalls.another thing i'm thinking of going to the ez start what do you guys think is better.

The 1mm opening is a 'ball park' starting point. If yours needs more, open it more. It's not uncommon to up the throttle trim for starting, but once it's started and warmed up, you should have it at zero and idling properly.
