Just purchased a MT2 off someone and I got the stock radio but did not get the receiver that goes ino the truck. I will be doing a winter rebuild and may go with an upgraded radio system to run all my vehicles off the same radio. If I dont do this my question is if I mix the rx and tx of 2 different brands would there be any reason they wouldn't work together? Say I use the HPI controller with an associated receiver in the truck? If they are both 27mhz with the same crystals and amount of channels is there any reason they wouldnt be compatible? Thanx for any replies.....:constipat

It should work, but I have seen instances where for some reason it did not.

People really dont read about radios do they????? Put a post in nitro and get several replies in an hour. Post in radios and get 1 in 2 days (thanx robmob!) Need help please

Most people are using 2.4ghz nowadays.

What further help do you need?

Well if you decide to go full upgrade, I just bought a Futaba 3PRKA. Runs about $70-$80 bucks and comes with a reciever. Damn good range, out does my Losi RTR unit.

As for the 27mhz you should be ok, although as mentioned very rarely is there some issues where they dont agree with each other. You get into 2.4 you run into more instances where this is not compatable with that.

Staying with the rtr am radio I didnt want to go to my lhs and buy whatever rx they had lyind around and get pissed that it didnt work with my tx. They have a pretty good return policy but it doesn't cover stupidity when you try to mix 2 different types of radio systems. Thats why the header said "Still Learning". Thanx for the replys guys!!!

You wont break anything trying to get them to work together, so see what you can figure out. Did you buy a reciever yet? I may have one laying around I can send you and if it works you'll be set, if not just send it back to me. I believe I have an associated and one other.
