Probably a subject that's been covered many times, but I need some answers. My T-Maxx has always given me steering problems ... from the box. Now that I have to replace some "A" arms, yep wrecked it, I want to do something about the steering. I have heard that the steering from a 3.3 is far superior than the 2.5. Will they interchange?

I'm pretty sure the 3.3 steering and 2.5 steering is the same... They came out with an upgrade for the e-maxx though that is a lot like the pro-line steering upgrade.

Not sure if it's usable or not in the t-maxx though:

Tower hints towards that it is usable on the t-maxx if you read the REQUIRES and COMMENTS.

Or, you can just save the hassle and get the pro-line kit:

I had that many years ago and it was far better than the stock setup. You will need to get a new solid servo horn if you intend on using either of the above though. You don't use the saver that is on the servo directly with these. It's built into the assembly.

Thank You ... I'll check it out.

The RC Planet site says no installation instructions are included. Am I to assume this is a easy change ?

Yeah, it wasn't that bad if I remember correctly. It replaces the bell cranks and if you look at the photo, it should be enough for you to figure out how to assemble the bits.

upgrade that servo w/ atleast 100oz.in torque-the truck will feel totally different. i run a jrz650m servo w/ aluminum steering bellcranks and ball bearings-stock is platic w/ plastic bushings-i found mine on ebay for like 10bucks used but in great shape-no problems since installation. run longer screws on the top steering post holes-makes it stronger. i still run stock servosaver w/gaurd.good luck

The 645MG isn't bad, but if it should fail on you, the 650M is a bit stronger and a bit faster for a bit more money. Although, the 645 should do fine with a t-maxx if your running stock sized tires.

Truck is entirely stock except for the servo and muffler. Now, RPM "A" arms on order ... lundsford hinge pins ... Pro-Line steering set-up.

Now that I've wrecked the truck, and it's almost winter. I may as well do the things I've wanted to do. Get rid of the ez-start and reverse . Is there a kit for forward only?

the hitec servo is a good servo.olds97 lss covered the foc-perfect-just matters if you have a black or grey tranny case. as for ditching the ez-start-theres many ways to convert it-i personally run a sullivan tiger drive starter w/ an 18v elecric drill-theres prob. cheaper systems cause u gotta bye the wand for the drill-and a drill if u dont have one. if u go with sullivan-make sure u threadlock that sucker in place cause it will loosen up and you'll end up loosing the screws as they fall out.saves a ton of weight over ez start to. I've had a bb maxx and currently have a o.s .18tm t-maxx/o.s .18tm powered revo-all have sullivan tiger drives and i love it. although the drill can become heavy at times. i know theres a chart that sullivan has all the different engine models listed allong w/ the right sullivan part # for your engine app. easy to use-just use google or whatever search engine you like-just type "sullivan tiger drive". good luck

Thank you olds 97 & guys2nv. Yes it's the older truck with the black case ... 2.5. Guess they call it "the classic" now. I was thinking of just putting the pull starter on it. Think they're about $20.00 at any hobby shop.

A pull start will get the job done, they can be pain sometimes though-esp if it snaps, not to mention you have the chance to skin your knuckles, was lookin at sullivan tiger drives-they run anywhere from 18-22 bucks then another 7-10 for the starter wand-so the extra 10-15bucks to me is worth it. theres nothing wrong w/ pull starts-that is if the motor is tuned good-should fire up w/ only 2-3 pulls-after u prime the engine.the t-maxx "classic" i think refers to the .15 model-2.5 is a 2.5 maxx.

I'm trying to get rid of having to carry the ez-start around with me .. so a starter wand is probably out of the question. Thanks for the suggestion.
