I have a boat load of servos I've gone through here, and I'll be using the Futaba Z270 for the reverse module.
While I have everything ripped out, does anyone know, offhand, if the Futaba Z590M (metal) would be better than the stock Savage steering servo?

JR makes the Z590M.

Info from tower by looking int he description for the savage x 4.6 rtr:
SF-2 high torque servo for steering (70 oz/in .20 sec @ 4.8V or 90 oz/in .16 sec @6V)

590M
# Torque:70 oz/in @ 4.8V, 85 oz/in @ 6V
# Speed:.18 sec/60° @ 4.8V, .15 sec/60° @ 6V

So, the 590M would be a hair faster, but also a bit weaker.

Personally, I wouldn't run anything weaker than 130oz for steering on the savage (or much anything else for that matter). I ran a 645MG in my 21 savage when I had it and it felt mushy. It runs 134oz @ .2 seconds. If money is an issue, I'd run with a z650M 142oz @ .17 sec.

Thanks for that detailed info, olds. I'll just run the stock servo till it serves no more, then go for the best.

as heavy as rolex's savage is, hes gonna need like 3 servos... if he ever drives it..

Hey, Rolex, you could buy a Baja 5b steering servo then spend even MORE time modding the bling truck to fit it. :D

 You might as well just bribe Mike into saying you won. From the sounds of it you won't let anyone else win :D

Oh yeah, forgot about that guy. Someone on a LST forum was posting those up. They appear to be a cheaper JR 650M, but I'm not sure why.

Shoot... that reminds me, I was going to buy a couple for steering in my aftershock. So much for my paypal slush fund. Thanks for posting that up Monzaman. I really did forget all about that one.

I need to hit the LHS anyway since I need a Y adapter to the battery monitor, now that the reverse module has taken up the extra channel. I'll definitely be picking one up.

I went to HobbyTown, and he searched the net, and couldn't find it. I got the Hitec HS-645MG for $35.99. 133.31 oz in. torque at 6V. That should do it.

Oh, and if you didn't suspect it, I got more bling. lol
