Is a Hitec 985 servo too big for a Savage 25? I posted before and a few people recommended a JR650 or Hitec 625 or 645. Looking for something unbreakable or should I say harder to break.Thanks in advance.
 
A 625 would be to weak IME as is the 645MG. The 645 will get the job done, but the 985MG will get it done with some style.

I have a 645Mg in my savage and I had the same in my revo. I replaced the one in my revo with the 985MG and now I'm saving for a second one for my savage. It really whips the wheels around on the revo. I couldn't believe how much more agile the faster/stronger servo made the thing. It would probably do wonders for my savage as well.

I'm surprised people didn't recommend more powerful/fast of a servo. I'm a basher, so I don't "need" a 300oz servo that moves in .06 of a second and it costs $150. Typically that's what gets recommended.

The 985MG will do the job well.
 
i got a hi tec 645 never had any problems with it. and my truck is twice as heavy as stock and 3 inches wider. the 150.00 servo will get it done for sure but its 150.00 bucks to much for me!
 
I run the Airtronics 94358 and its awesome. Lock to lock on the ground and super quick. paid 130 at the hobby shop but it was worth it

set your end points propery or any servo you buy won't last long
 
New to the game "set your points" meaning. Thanks newbie
 
to set your points means to make sure that your servo is set right ie if you turn your sterrin all the way to the right the servo is done turnin if the servo turns from 12oclock to 6oclock it is at 12 or 6 not 4 or 2 if that makes sence
 
Do you have a radio that allows you to set your EPA's (end point adjustment)? If so, you adjust the EPA for left/right so when you turn the wheel to full lock, the linkage of the truck/vehicle is just at it's mechanical limit, not trying to go beyond. If you have your EPA's set so it pushes beyond that, it will make the servo strain and burn it up in a short while.
