I had all I could do to keep ahead of a MT on the track this weekend. Even though he had his truck set up for racing (lower CG, soft springs, etc.), the buggy should have easily left him. Anyways, he would catch me in the corners as I couldn't get the buggy turned fast enough, kept going wide. I need to upgrade my stock steering servo on my Storm. Something with plenty of nut and moves the wheels faster. Any suggestions ?

Airtronics 94357Z ERG-VR Hi-Speed/Hi-Torque 125 oz/in

I have one in my Ofna MBX 9.5. Turns on a dime now. Its a little pricey though.

K, after surfing the net a bit, looking at mostly HiTec stuff, I noticed that there are servos out there that far out-perform that of my stock JR Racing Z590M (85 oz / .15 sec). The only thing is that they are digital servos. Can I use one of these digital servos in place of what I have now ? Is it a direct swap out or do I need to change out my rcvr / controller ?

Just looked at your Airtronics 94357Z ERG-VR. Much, much faster than my JR racing servo. I was looking at the HiTec HS-5945MG but again, it's digital and not sure what I need to do for that.
But your Airtronics look like a winner with it's speed being .07,
very quick and the torque is up from my 85 oz to 125 oz.

What receiver do you have?

I just orderred the HiTec digital servo programmer today. Those servos are VERY good! If you ever get the urge, and decide to go with all digitals someday, keep in mind the programmer is an AWESOME tool! You can only use it to PROGRAM HiTec digital servos though. You can test others, but to program, they will have to be HiTec.

Here is a high torque that could stop a train:

Here is a high speed thats still strong, but fast.:

www.hitecrcd.com has a whole listing of all their servos with the strengths/speeds/voltage here:
http://www.hitecrcd.com/Servos/servohome.htm

I like my HiTec servos. Its mostly all I run.

You can read more on the programmer here:
http://www.hitecrcd.com/Servos/HFP-10.htm
(check out what you can program right into the servo..... no more failsafes needed :thumbup )

All of the electronics are still stock. Without going to all of your links (and Thanks for all of that too), can I run a digital servo with my stock rcvr ?

I dont see why not. The ONLY system I know of that REQUIRES digital servos, is the High Response System by Futaba,

What you need to do is buy the ones with the JR connectors.

servo city has them.

If you go to the link I sent you up there at HiTecRCD, you will find a link on the lower left, SERVO FAQS. Take a read. Youll feel like a servo expert when you are done ;)

Great, Thanks to you and robmob. Between the Airtronics and the Hitec's you both suggested, I should be golden with either of them.
