Steering Servo Replacement

None of the Savages come with bearings as far as I know. I have had both the 4.6 SS and the 4.6 X SS, and both had plastic bushings. Why would they make everything so well engineered and spare an extra $10 and put plastic in it? Weird thing, the 4.6 SS savage showed in the manual the bearings being an option part. In the X SS, no mention of them at all. I am waiting for my lhs to get the size in that I need before continuing with my build.

Thanks for the mention 1500valk. That let me search up the part to make sure of the size of bearing. Part# B045 6x10x3 bearing: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=b045&sourceid=mozilla-search

That's the size I guessed earlier:

Found them on the savage 25 option parts: http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/instr/savage25/S25_P67.jpg

The avids are significantly cheaper. $4 vs $14 at tower. The avids are also rubber shielded vs steel shielded.

Those would work...right??

And as for the servo saver, isnt it already on the savage f4.1 RTR...i think and i hope. Cuz i see that i do have the purple cylinder with the spring already install on the truck when i bought it, so does it mean i dont have to get it? Or is the link ANOTHER purple cylinder thinggy kit LOL!!!

Yep, they should work. But duratrash bearings typically suck...

The purple thing with a spring is your saver. The bearings go into the ends of the posts for the purple thing.

Thanks

LOL !!! thanks old, and sorry about my non-precise choice of words...but will the Duratrash bearings still do the job?

IMO if your going to replace the steering servo you should buy a metal gear servo, the one you mentioned is not worth it.

If you want to keep it cheap the 645MG is only $39.99, very tough metal gear servo, just not as fast as some of others...But much better than stock.
