i've got a hi-tec 645mg servo and it's just started to act up,
when i turn to the right it tunrs really stongly but then as soon as i stop turning right it goes left then it centres it's self. but when i try and turn left it's not as strong as the right turn, but it does centre itself afterwards, could this be the electrics on the servo/the reciever?

Ok does your radio have end point adjustments and if so have you reduced them at all? Is your steering binding up when you try to turn to the left?

this is happening to my stock steering servo. its kind of hard to explain but i think it might have somethin to do with the tires. i usually turn to the right like on my street instead of turning to the left so the left side of my tires are kind of bald and the right side of my tires and pretty much the same as when i got them. so i think its harder to turn cause the tires are flat on one side and round on the other side. you get it? kinda hard to explain.

If your tires are bald on one side, you probably have it set up wrong a little somewhere. Unless they are evenly bald on both tires. Even then, you have your toe or caster out of wack some.

Lift the front of the truck off the ground and test steering. See if it reacts the same without weight on the tires. If it does, then your right. If it doesn't, then you have something either binding in the steering linkage, your endpoints are goofed, or your servo is dieing.

what could be set up wrong? i didnt know there was a way to set up your tires. or are you talking about the servo?

simf40, it is also possible you have a bad servo saver. The stock one is crap, I never even used it when building my SS, I went with a Kimbrough servo saver before doing the MP servo saver mod. Check this first as this very well may be the cause of your problem.

Dude let me tell you I expereinced the same exact thing with no consistancy in the steering at all. I upgraded to a better servo saver than stock and was having problems right and left. Turned out I had the wrong adapter for the servo saver on it causing it to do what it pleased. Got the right one on and never had a problem again.

ok i'll give u guys some more detail i've already got the mp servo saver mod done! and it does exactly the same thing when you lift the wheels off the ground that was the 1st thing i checked trying to eliminate the possibilites, i've got the impression that it's a bad servo? like the electrics so i'll take it apart and figure it out,

I had problems with my HS-645MG servo and I took it apart to try and find out what was wrong but had no luck. I sent it back to Tower and got a new one and it has worked since.
