anyone have a suggestion for a replacement servo? i have an older ntc3 with old ace r/c electronics... never had a problem but recently took a concrete post and a good 40mph .... anyway needless to say the steering servo is gone, i got a cheap futaba standard 23003 (i didnt expect it to last forever) but i did expect a little more... i stopped the car with my foot (wasn't going fast but i heard a tiny pop.. i assume it was the gear in the servo) its locked up.. but i can't see how it could have happened.... anyway i know a 10$ servo isn't gonna take much abuse but geesee,. anyone know of something that may last a bit longer that isn't 100$ ??? i know the metal gear is tougher but i don't mind replacing it after a crash worthy of breaking it... and id rather stick a 20$ one in once in a while than an expensive one (i dont race) any suggestions???

trying a..

associated 1903... 20$ metal gears.. exact fit... can't be worse than the first.. and its a replacement for the ace 1903 which i probably would have ordered but it is on back order and the associated is 10$ less

I'd rather spend a little more for one that will last longer myself and the 1903 is usually used for throttle/brake instead of steering. It only has 42oz. of torque.

I like Savox servos and they have a good selection, check'm out.

Thanks I will... I guess if I were sure it would last... I just got the 1903 cuz that's what was in it and its worked for years now with no trouble until I demolished the car

If I wanted to switch from the 4aa battery to something different what would be best to use? (I'm still on old school am radio n such) ... and how much torque do you suggest for steering servo? Honestly I can't tell much different in the 9$ futaba I've been using except it being a little slower (which for me isn't really a bad thing..

So far so good with the associated 1903. I know it's only 42lbs but eh.. I had already ordered it..

Haha have fun with that. That is pretty low....should have gone with something higher imo. But, what ever floats your boat.
