I've had 40 series wheels wit big joes on my xl ever since I got my rig and my steering servo finally gave out. Wat is the best or strongest servo I can buy to use in my xl. Also are there any tricks or mods to improve my steering wit these BIG wheels.

Get one of these and I dont think you'll have any steering issues anymore :)

thanks for the advise on the servo guys but are there any mods to make the steering smoother?

Savox are generally smoother in movement than other servos. I have a hitech 5579 tg on my tmaxx steering and even though its very strong and has been reliable, it is too fast fir me and makes the rigs steering very touchy. Its like it turns too fast and is hard not to spin out of control because of it. I plan on replacing it with a savox soon and use the hitech on something else.

Well my search for a steering servo is over. I'll be getting that one. Thanks!

Here's a little how to on freeing up some steering on the savage.

Personally I run the Hobbico CS-170tg. It's got 333oz of tq @6v for $84 shipped. I've owned two now for almost 4 years now with zero issues. One of them is in my speed truck and it has taken many many curb hits at over 55+ mph and A super nasty 100" cartwheel at 69mph. Works like a charm!

Got it installed. Very fast and powerful. Is it normal for it to make a buzzing sound when sitting and then go away when the front tires are off the ground? Seems like any little load on it makes a buzzing sound.

Yes!!! I thought the same thing! All of them do that :)

Sent from my Pipboy-3000 in the Capital Wasteland.

They sell a capacitor to wire inline to get rid of the buzzing. I read about it in a thread on here somewhere. Maybe someone will chime in with the link to it.
