I'm not sure what to check. I ran my truck today and got it dialed in nice to the point where its almost pulling wheelies. but when taking off ,the truck pulls to one side as if one wheel is getting more power than the other. I played with the steering trim and improved it a little but still wont go straight at higher speeds .If I throttle it while holding on to the bumper they seem to all have equal power enough to all spin against the resistance . now my stock wheel hexes arent that great anymore . I just got all my parts in to do the steering upgrade and I have a brand new set of maxx wheels that arent glued yet. does this sound like steering\wheel spinning problems or DIff problems.

You may have a shock sticking. Check your suspension. Move each arm up and down through it's full range of motion and see if one is harder/softer than the rest.

I had this happen on my maxx. One of my front shock shafts was bent. When I would gun it, the tire would almost come off the ground because it was stuck. It really wanted to drive in a circle regardless where I turned the wheel.

that posts reminds me of something too... check your turnbuckle rod ends. When I first got my Maxx I couldn't get the damn thing to drive straight for my life.. steering trim, camber, toe.. nothin worked. Well, I finally noticed that one of the rod ends was broken.. it was cracked righat at the end of the turnbuckle itself, still attached, but crooked. Replaced it and reworked my settings and she was good to go.

Thanks Ill check those things out , I did just recently refilled my stock shocks with 30wt and I had to reattach the one shaft back into the socket a couple of times. and the turnbuckles are kinda worn. I'm gonna try the steering mod soon so If I need to replace anything else Ill do so. Ill let you know what happens .

you may be slowly stripping out a wheel thats what mine did right before my hexes(rim) stripped out

Replace the hpi hexes with something better like gpm's. I was stripping wheel centers out left and right with the hpi's and finally had enough. Since going to the gpm's I've yet to strip a wheel out. If you're still running the hpi wheels get a stronger one like a proline.

Two of the 4 wheels hexes are almost rounded out. when I couldnt get the tires off of them clean enough to put them on new hpi rims i just re glued them and figured id run them till they are totally worthless. I just have to glue the new Maxx tires I got off ebay . if it runs ok with the new set of wheels then Ill know for sure if it was Stripped hexes. I keep stripping the wheel nuts on the black side trying to keep them tight enough. I also got a new set of Jumbo claw dogs with diamond wheels, but I'm not going to use them until I do my steering upgrade.
