well i just bought a tmax 2.5r, however it was converted to a bigger chassis and it turns when there is no weight on the tires but when its on teh ground it doesn tturn, the servos are good, i dont know what else it is anyone ever had a issue like this?

It's completely normal when you have a bigger truck. Once it gets rolling it should have no trouble turning

Yeah see I was worried for a second about that same thing. Cause I have a Tmaxx and haven't been able to run it yet and it does the same thing. But I figured that it was because it wasn't moving. I even have the waterproof high-torque servo Traxxas makes.

I would upgrade the servo to a high torque servo, savox or hitech makes good servos, the stock Traxxas steering servo is weak. I would go with a 220 or better.

My 220 oz servos turn my trenchers on the carpet!!

A 200 oz-in torque or more servo does look good. Until you see the price tag. Holy crap! $80+ for a servo that might be water-resistant? No thanks. The waterproof digital high torque servo traxxas makes is $20-$30 and it has 125 oz-in torque.

If its price your looking at that one thing, if you want quality you have to pay for it. In my opinion, the traxxas steering servo is junk, i'm sure anyone that has experience in the hobby would say the same.

I went to savox's website to check out the truck servos. Why are none of them waterproof or at least water resistant? I understand Savox makes good servos but it seems pretty pointless to spend that much on something that is no doubt going to get wet at some point.

Savox 220 oz tq metal geared servo $40. But like said above the quality is hit not there

I have had a savaxo for about 2 years now, ran it in and out of mud, water, snow, never had any problems. My traxxas servo lasted 2 month's. The problem with a week servo is; the more you try to make it turn under a load the more it will drain the battery and the hotter the servo will get, not to mention the fact that they have plastic gears and will strip with no effort at all, also, the more expensive servos are made to be rebuildable not throw aways.

I'm on my second savox, same one as I linked too above. It only lasted maybe a couple hours of riun time. I said what the hell and for $40 thought I'd give savox another go..

I see where I made an error. I saw the sc-0251 and read the torque at 4.8V, which is 180. So I kept scrolling and saw sc-1232sg which I thought what you guys were talking about. That's a $70 servo. I would happily pay $40 for a good servo. Still stumped on the water resistant/water proof side of things though.

You kmow, they come with a 2 warranty.

It was bought from a eBay seller and I had no receipt. When I call savox they said it had to of
Been purchased in the US to be covered under warranty. Oh well..

everything is aluminum on the truck as well a arms, and skid plates adn the shock towers so its a bit heavy.

You can buy a rebuild kit for about 15bucks depending whats wrong with it.

If you have a heavy rig i would definitely recommend a better servo than the stock traxxas one.
