Does anyone know of a company that makes a 24 horn for hitec servos. I stripped the plastic one on my truck.

arrg

I got the horn. IT fits yet the stock screw does not fit. Also The screw diameter on the new horn is smaller that the original (stock).has anyone came across this issue. If so what do you do to fix this.

Drill it out and use a machine screw and put a lock nut on it. That's what I'd do anyway since if the screw snapped off, you'd have a hard time getting the broken bit out.

The screw never snapped its just i was looking for a screw that would fit. i guess i better of just to drill the horn and get a machined screw with nut and use that with the stock steering rod.

No, what I meant was that if I had a alloy horn, I wouldn't even use a screw that threaded into the arm. I would drill it out in the first place to avoid getting it snapped off and stuck.

ahh sorry. So do you use just a standard plastic servo horn. The reason i want to go to a alloy is because, i find the servo (a hitec 945) use to turn the tires standing still now it has difficulty doing so. So i figure its the horn slipping. Any information you have i would appreciate it.

I use plastic horns with my 985MG's (20oz stronger than the 945MG) and have yet to strip one out. Could it be that the servo is just getting old/tired? Or are you getting a lot of drag on it due to worn bushings/pivot balls in the linkage?
