I recently purchased a used megatech engine. I do not really know much about the engine, except for the stuff I have learned on web sites. I can not figure out whether I am suppose to use a pull starter or an electric start for my engine. Can someone please help me? I would really appriciate it.

When I went to the manufacturers website www.megatech.com they had no info on the engine and the pictures on the web site didn't work.

I can send you a picture of my engine so if you think that you can help me, please email me and tell me because I can send you a picture if you need it. Thanx!

Well if your engine is a pull start engine it will be pretty obvious because you will see this cord with a T shaped handle. If you don't see that you will either need to purchase a bump starter or starter box.

My engine doesn't have a pullstarter on it. What it has is a flat metal plate that is in the exact place that the pullstarter goes.

i think what you are talking about is a back plate. Those are put on engines that do not have a pull start so that dirt or anything else can not enter the engine.it sounds like you will need another way of starting it.

Do you mean a Megatech .16 engine?

If you are talking about a Megatech .16 engine then I mite be abel to help. The plate were the pullstart goes is probubly another way to start.I know that you can't put a Traxxas Ez-Start on it, but you can buy a metal plate that will allow you to put it on.I am think that the black plate is some other way to start it.I have only see pullstart and ez-starts.I have never seen any other way to start.Where did you get the engine?Ask the person you got it from. Also could you post a picture of it on hear?
