Stampede Transmission problem?

Got my stampede today...well. I have the battery in, controller, etc. It steers fine and everything, except when I give it gas, it wants to make a grinding noise? And it jumps a bit. I changed the Spur gear and the pinion, but that didn't do anything. Any ideas?

Busted gear in the tranny. Easy fix. It's probably the plastic counter gear which broke and then ruined the outer diff gear. Check your out drives first, though(where the axle mounts to the tranny).

It wasn't the out drives. So, for the busted gear in the tranny, I'm going to need to take the A-Arms off, and all that?

Yep, tear it apart. It's very simple. Just watch for the tiny washers that go on the bearing spindles in the tranny. Put 'em back where they go. Don't be scared, it's a piece of cake. Clean out all the debris from the busted gears and re-lube properly. Don't over tighten the tranny case, either, or you'll squeeze everything to tight and cause a bind. Check all the bearings to ensure they work right. Take your time, be organized, and get to it!
