Stale Fuel

I don't keep fuel long enough for it to go stale but I would assume poor tuning issues and hard starting.

I hope it doesn't go stale for awhile. I have tons of fuel. I can only run 1 car at a time...

Ya, I keep my fuel untill I notice a pretty good discoloration. I just can't justify throwing that kinda money away....even if nitro is the coolest substance to burn..

i have a gallon of traxxas 20% that has been around for about 5 months opened. and i got it out last week and it fine i just kept it in a dark cool place

if you fuel looks like its seperating but you havent had it for a long time give it a shake and try it out if it runs good no prob but if it doesn't run worth anything just save it for cleaning duties.

so use your fuel bottle to suck it back out... then you dont have to toss it..

He says that because you're kind of supposed to throw out any fuel left in the tank after 1 run, because it goes bad....

A friend of mine just bashed with me last weekend with a bottle of fuel that he ran 15 months ago, I think it was Odonnels 20%, but it ran fine. He burned the 1/4 gallon he had left and burned another 1/4 gallon of the new bottle and didn't notice much of a difference. That was a fun day... I burned a half gallon myself as well! 6 hours of bashing!!!

I just found a qrt of my Traxxas 20% top fuel, that was probably about a year old and was opened (I didnt even know I had it) but I shook the can before I opened it, It sounded like opening up a can of Coke, but it ran fine.

well i have had some really old fuel but i found out that if you shake it up really good it mixxes in back up and its good to go werks everytime for me

Stale = water contamination due to condensation from the air. I've never actually done this, but heard if you put it in the freezer overnight and there's ice on the top in the morning, you can toss it. The alcohol prevents the fuel/oil mix from freezing, ony the water portion will freeze.

How old is it T?
